Brad Paisley Joins Forces with Chevy and Cell Phones for Soldiers to Aid Troops

Brad Paisley has joined forces with Chevrolet and Cell Phones for Soldiers to support troops serving overseas. During his H2O II Wetter and Wilder World Tour presented by Chevy, Paisley will help collect gently-used cell phones to assist Cell Phones for Soldiers in providing free international calling cards to those serving in the United States military.

Paisley’s H2O II Wetter and Wilder World Tour kicked off June 3 and stretches from Maine to Utah to Florida throughout the summer. As a presenting sponsor of the Wetter and Wilder World Tour, Chevrolet and the GM Military Discount wanted to call on Paisley’s fans to support troops serving overseas. Paisley fans have multiple ways to support this initiative and donate a gently-used cell phone:

  • 1. At the H2O II Wetter and Wilder World Tour presented by Chevy at three locations – the main entrance, the Chevrolet display and Paisley’s merchandise tent.
  • 2. A postage-paid envelope also will be distributed at concerts for those wishing to participate following the event.
  • 3. If not attending a performance, fans can support Paisley and team by printing a postage-paid label online at

Donated phones will be recycled with the proceeds fueling the purchase of free international calling cards for troops stationed around the world.

Cell Phones for Soldiers is a national non-profit organization with a mission to connect deployed military members to family and friends. The charity was founded by siblings Robbie and Brittany Bergquist at the age of 12 and 13, respectively. Since 2004, Cell Phones for Soldiers has distributed more than 114 million minutes of talk time to men and women overseas through the recycling of more than 8.3 million cellular devices.

The GM Military Discount is available to active and reserve members of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard. The discount is available on most Chevrolet, Buick and GMC models, and typically ranges between $500 and $4,000 off the suggested retail price of the vehicle purchased. In addition, the GM Military Discount offers a $750 discount on selected Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles to eligible members of USAA, a financial services provider for the military community. In 2010 alone, the GM Military Discount program provided more than 70,000 discounts to military personnel and their families with a cumulative value of more than $60 million.

“We are excited to have Brad join us in raising awareness for Cell Phones for Soldiers,” said Kevin Mayer, Director of Chevrolet Advertising, “and continuing our work to honor the men and women in uniform.”
