Joe Don Rooney, the lead guitarist of Rascal Flatts, will be competing in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament July 15 – 17 at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course for the second year in a row.

Rooney will be joined by over 75 other celebrities and athletes from all over the country, including Michael Jordan and Ray Romano, as they converge on Lake Tahoe for the 22nd annual event, which awards $600,000 in prize money.

Fans can watch Rooney play golf live on VERSUS (Friday, July 15 4-7 pm ET) and on NBC Sports (Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 from 3-6 pm ET).

Rooney competed in the tournament for the first time in 2010, finishing 49th. The top finisher this year will earn $125,000. According to Harrah’s and Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Sports Book, Rooney’s odds of winning this year’s tournament are 20 to 1, as part of the field bet.
