Corey Smith’s ‘ The Broken Record’

Corey Smith’s first nationwide release, The Broken Record, hits stores today, June 21, 2011, on Average Joe’s Entertainment and features the current single, “Twenty-One (2011).”

My goal as a writer and artist is to be heard,” Smith shared. “With this new album release and another exciting year of touring, I’m reminded how far I’ve come and how far I’ve yet to go. I think of my family and friends, our community and the thousands of people across the country who’ve been in my corner over the years, cheering for me, believing in me and inspiring me; and I realize that music is more important than ever and that I am no longer content to use it as a means to only survive,” he said. “I desire to thrive.”

The seventeen-track album features new material (“I Love Everyone,” “No Way (Out with a Smile),” “Heart Attack,” “Broken Record,” “New Day,” “Sugar Daddy,” “Down to Earth,” and “Silly”) along with previously released, re-recorded crowd favorites such as current single “Twenty-One (2011)” and “If I Could Do It Again,” “Maybe Next Year,” “Carolina,” “Backroad,” and “Something to Lose.”

The Broken Record epitomizes where I am, both personally and professionally. It is my salute to continuity amidst the trumpets of change, reconciling the freedom and recklessness of my youth with the security and responsibility of the present,” Smith added.
