Robin Meade, popular host of “Morning Express with Robin Meade” on HLN, will release her musical debut, Brand New Day, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, exclusively through Target and iTunes. Other stars appearing on the album as duet partners or background vocalists include Celebrity Apprentice winner John Rich, American Idol’s Bo Bice, Kix Brooks, and Sarah Buxton. Nashville heavy-hitter Victoria Shaw produced the album, which includes songs Meade co-wrote with Shaw, Rich, Hall of Fame writer Gary Burr, singer-songwriter Billy Dean, Matt Lopez of Due West and others.
Meade’s new album offers fans a glimpse into her musical roots and aspirations. Her love of music was fostered from the pews of church as the daughter of an Ohio preacher, and has evolved to include a passion for writing and performing country music.
“Songwriting, like journalism, is about telling people’s stories, the things that make up their lives: their loves and losses, their passions and dreams, their challenges and victories. It was important to me that this album reflect my respect for country music and my desire to convey the human condition through song. I’m chomping at the bit to share this side of myself with the world.”
No stranger to the stage, Meade has performed with Kenny Chesney, Richard Marx, David Foster, John Rich and pianist Jim Brickman, among others, and received a standing ovation at the Grand Ole Opry.
Meade will connect with both longtime and new fans during her first CMA Music Fest appearance in Nashville (June 9-12). She’ll perform on the Lay’s Plaza Stage Sunday, June 12 at 11:45am central time, play in the annual City of Hope Softball Challenge Saturday June 11, duet with Bo Bice Sunday June 12 on the Lay’s Stage at 5:45pm central time, and sign copies of her new album ‘Brand New Day’ at her convention center booth June 9, 10, & 11.
