This video of Keith Urban has been making it’s rounds on the internet. Keith is known for letting the crowd pretty much do whatever they want at his concerts. He’s also gained quite a reputation for telling security where to go if they get in the way of a fan’s ultimate concert experience. Well, in the video above, Keith shoo’s away a security guard (it’s about 1:30 in). Unfortunately, he did it with his foot, and some are reporting that Keith kicked the security guard. I think it looks more like a “shoo…get away.” What do you think??

Good for Keith!!! Most security I have had at concerts are great, but you get a few that think it is their mission in life to make our concert experience as miserable as possible! Keith is one class act and knows that his fans are in it for a good time! Venue security needs to loosen up and listen to the artists. It is because of them and the fans that they have a job!
He just shooed him away. The security at the front not only tend to harass people but they also have a habit of blocking people’s view of the stage. I sense Keith was telling him to get out of the way so the people can see. Good for him! He cares about his fans. Recently, you posted a video of Miranda Lambert stopping a song to settle a fight. I’m sure Keith would do the same if one arose in the front, so security should just let people be. If you let people enjoy the concert then you’re not going to have issues, they just came to sing and dance along to the songs after all!
I think it was definitely a “shoo, get away”, he definitely did not kick the security guard. Keith is always sticking up for his fans to make sure they have an amazing concert experience and that is what he was doing. He was definitely just telling the guy to back off, Keith is a class act and would never kick anyone!
Haha!! Good for Keith! He IS a class act! He performs like I do. If someone runs across the stage at me, it’s just part of a GREAT NIGHT that a fan had!… But watch the video CLOSE! Keith’s foot NEVER TOUCHED the security guy! Keith wasn’t being an A$$ about anything. He just wants his fans to have a great time!! WAY TO GO, KEITH!! Keep on rockin, brother!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MAN!!! HE IS BY FAR THE BEST ENTERTAINER, HE LOVES HIS FANS AND THEY ALL LOVE HIM. HE HAS A CONNECTION WITH US ALL. I HAVE SEEN HIM LOTS OF TIMES HE IS VERY GRACIOUS AND WOULD NEVER HURT ANOTHER. HE TOTALLY SHOOED THE SECURITY GUARD. I GO TO ALOT OF CONCERTS AND THESE SECURITY GUARDS ARE A LITTLE TO SERIOUS SOMETIMES. PEOPLE JUST WANT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND STAND UP DURING A SHOW. SO LET THEM…. PEACE LOVE TO KEITH URBAN AND HIS FANS… HE ROCKS MY WORLD!!! MISTY
If you pause the video at 1:33 and play it scene by scene, it’s as plain as day that Keith’s foot isn’t even close to the guard.
He just shooed him away, he never actually touched him. I’m sure the gaurd didn’t appreciate it but no harm was done to him. I think it’s cool that Keith tries to make the experience as good as he can for everyone. He needs to remember tho that the gaurds are there for a reason. Not just for his safety but for the fans as well. He should try to talk to them, or have his people talk to them, before the shows & tell them (the gaurds) what he feels is exceptable & not exceptable as far as how close to let the fans get, etc. Getting up close is awesome & I love getting as much possible stage front time as the next fan but people could get hurt if things get too out of control. Especially kids & disabled people.
[...] A side note. Keith Urban, known for putting a great show – something I know first hand, I saw him give a great performance at the Cavendish Music Festival – was caught on video shooing a guard away. He’s known for letting the audience do what they want at his shows, and really would rather security not get in the way of the fan’s experience. Unfortunately, he waved the guard away with his foot and some people (that must really be BLIND) are going as far as to say that he kicked him. He didn’t come any way close to doing that. You can judge for yourself near the 1:30 mark. Original article from Country Music Tattle Tale. [...]
Shoo away definitely. Keith saw something that he did not appreciate; he did not miss a beat performinng; just took care of it in a gentlemanly manner. Security guards can be such a pain at times. Give them a badge and they become macho men. I have been to many concerts of many different genres, and Keith is the only one that tells security to pull back and let the fans have fun. He is all for the “fans”, and we are all for Keith Urban. Thank you, Keith, for supporting your fans.
seriously, people love to make a mountain out of nothing…
a Firm get away!!! that’s what it was!! and then the concert went on as planned and was the absolute best time!! wish I could spend every Sunday nite at this concert again and again!!
can hardly wait to get my hands on Keith’s new album in November and the new single hits the radio stations Monday!!! “Put you in a song” is going to rock !!! the lyric’s a beautiful…..
I believe Keith shooed the security guard away, some of the security I seen at Keith’s concert think they can boss Keith’s Fans Around. Good for you Keith.
