miranda is nominated for 2 songs in each category?? that’s over the top! there are plenty of other deserving people from this past year who could be nominated instead of “white liar”! and nothing for carrie underwood for “temporary home”? these nominations seem like a joke….
Very disappointed as I am every year at this time. Some of those nominees are very deserving, some are just hogwash. I am still stunned that “Til’ Summer Comes Around” was not a nominee in the Video of the Year category!
THIS IS HORRIBLE! a Joke Really! I mean Miss Underwood had a WAY bigger year than Miranda Lambert. and More than one nomination in some of the categories it’s REDICOULOUS! I mean Carrie BETTER be nominated tomorrow with the BIG categories, and if she isn’t I will be VERY upset! This was the biggest load of crap i’ve EVER seen! Not impressed with the CMA Awards, no wonder why i’ve always liked the ACM Awards better!? >:[
Even though I am disappointed that Carrie, Reba and some other artists were not nominated, why are you trashing Miranda? She is highly talented and her album is great. She deserves these nominations, just like the rest of them. Its people like Angelica that make other country music fans dislike Carrie so much. It’s embarrassing.
I was disappointed as well that Keith Urban’s TSCA was not nominated too! That was a great song and video! Keith always gets the shaft at radio and award shows. Country radio does not appreciate Keith! I agreed with Miranda’s nom for The House that Built Me, but not White Liar too!! That song drove me crazy cause radio played it too death!
Very happy to see Easton Corbin getting some love. Also happy that the Band Perry got Vocal Group…talented group right there! Am I surprised Miranda got 2 in each of song and single…yes did she deserve it…yes…I think it should have been shaken up a bit but we got more nominations tomorrow!
I was so excited to hear that Steel Magnolia was nominated. I have seen them in concert twice this year and they are OUTSTANDING. Meghan and Josh have the best chemistry and it comes through in their music. Steel Magnolia is a very polished band and definately puts on a show to be enjoyed by all. Check them out …you wont be disapointed.
Just cuz Carrie wasn’t nominated, doesn’t mean the other artists weren’t deserving. It seems to me that every year, no matter who wins or who’s nominated….sooooo many carrie fans jump ship and start going-off on the other nominees…Taylor, Miranda…I mean…c’mon…should “Temporary Home” have been nominated? Hell yes…but why assume “White Liar” is the spot stealing culprit. There are only so many nominations and a zillion great songs so I’m sure the narrow-down was rough. I’m sure she’ll get a Female Vocalist nom, but I really think it’s Miranda’s year and I think she deserves it. She’s worked really hard for a really long time and it’s nice to see her finally getting noticed as the amazing songwriter and entertainer that she is.
And even though I’m a HUGE Keith fan…”Til Summer comes Around’ never hit #1 here in the States (only Canada) so the likelihood of it nabbing a coveted nomination was pretty much non-existent.
Tawny: I think your tweets lumping all Carrie Underwood fans together as jealous were classless and unfair. You owe Carrie Underwood fans an apology for taking 1 or 2 overreactions as a generalization about how a whole fanbase behaves. There’s lots of Carrie fans at her fan site that are happy or VERY happy for Miranda. If you read the Miranda thread at Carrie’s main fan site there’s lots of people posting there who really like Miranda and believe she’s due the recognition she’s getting.
But instead you overreacted and insulted a whole fanbase. Nice.
And by the way ITA that Til Summer Comes Around was majorly snubbed and I’d have been happy if Temporary Home were nominated too. Til Summer Comes Around, The House That Built Me, Temporary Home, Highway 20 Ride, and Gettin You Home are my favorite singles released this year and would’ve been my picks.
I’m going by the tweets/emails/comments we’ve received…NOT saying ALL Carrie Underwood fans HATE…but those we get most of the HATE from are Carrie Underwood fans…So I apologize…NOT ALL Carrie fans HATE on Miranda/Taylor…whoever…but you’d be surprised how many Carrie fans we get hate/rude/distasteful comments/emails/tweets from just because she isn’t nominated or just because they didn’t like something…I’ve known DJ’s to get death threats from CU fans because of jokes…it’s ridiculous…I’ve never seen anything like it…We never get hate stuff from Miranda or Taylor fans because Carrie walks away w/Awards…
lol wow…i think i’m gonna not come to this site anymore. nobody was hating on miranda or anything. nobody said “white liar” is the “spot stealing culprit” but out of all of the nominees i think that song is the least deserving (it only hit #1 on mediabase and not billboard and it wasn’t for very long). and plus why would one artist have 2 songs nominated in EVERY category? seems a bit of overkill to me…and i LIKE miranda, i just think there are more songs that were deserving (not just carrie’s).
and you made a good point…there are only so many nominations and a zillion great songs to choose from….so why give all the nominations to the same artists over and over?
Tawny,I don’t think a song has to be a #1 to get a nomination!! It’s considered a hit no matter if it gets to #1 or not. How many #1′s has Easton Corbin had or Steel Magnolia or The Band Perry, but they all got nominations, and I don’t believe some of Taylor’s songs that got noms last year went to #1, Thank goodness the Canadians know a great song when they hear it.
Then Tawny you just haven’t seen the Taylor and Miranda trolls because they’re out there. There’s always bad apples in every fanbase and they usually have multiple sock puppets and email addresses to make it look like there are more of them out there than there actually are.
I think you should tweet your apology to Carrie fans too because you sent it out to your followers in the first place. It’d be the stand up thing for you to do.
“A little more country than that” from Easton went #1 and in like record time…My point was, that most songs/singles to get nominated do hit #1 status…being nominated for Group/duo has no bearing on it…And yes, Canadians do have it right…but it didn’t hit #1 because we didn’t get it there…not enough requesting…but oh well.
@Tawny: why does it seem like you’re mocking people every time you back down? Why not just admit you overgeneralized by calling out a whole fanbase and leave it at that instead of saying stuff like “Better? I doubt it. lol” There’s actually lots of normal behaving Carrie Underwood fans you insulted who have every right to be offended by your comment and who deserve a sincere apology.
It shouldn’t be that a song has to hit #1 to get nominated but I guess it is. It’s dumb though because aren’t awards supposed to be for the BEST songs? Just because a song hit #1 doesn’t mean it’s the best song. Like Fifteen didn’t hit #1 but IMO it’s a better song than every Taylor song that did hit #1. It doesn’t always happen that a great song (like The House That Built Me) actually hits #1. Plus the songs we remember aren’t always the ones that hit #1. Here’s one of the more famous ones: Independence Day by Martina McBride. It didn’t even make the top 10 but does anybody care? It’s a great song and it’s one that’s stood the test of time.
There are Carrie fans out there right now that are being horrible to Miranda. But the majority of them are happy for Miranda. A lot of Taylor fans do the same thing. Taylor fans completely bashed Carrie when she won her ACMs. There are Gloriana fans right now, bashing Zac Brown Band and some of the other New Artist nominees. All fan bases have those that are going to tear down other artists and say they are not deserving. Just wait until tomorrow’s nominations when Taylor doesn’t get what her fans think she should. Or if she doesn’t win anything. Than they will do exactly what some Carrie fans are doing now. In my opinion, Carrie and Taylor fans are the ones that have the worse “bad apples” out of any other artists. Especially taylor. Some of those fans are incredibly horrible but I just shake it off to them being young.
Last comment…notice how my post on here was fairly nice…informative…yet still an opinion… On twitter, i was a tad more blunt…it’s my personal opinion on my personal twitter…Feel free to lash out at me there…But i will say that we are not the only media outlet who has remarked on the SOME carrie underwood fans who tend to go wayyyy over board w/their distasteful way of sharing their opinions…it’s a pretty well-known fact. So instead of yelling at my remarking about the craziness, maybe someone should reign-in those who are giving the reputation in the first place…CMTT very very very very very rarely…if ever…gets hate mail from anyone else other than CU fans…that is all….now feel free to continue…
How can you rein in crazy? If you think Carrie fans haven’t tried to talk the few bad apples down then you’re flat out wrong. Now we just roll our eyes and ignore them because the more attention you pay them the more they act out. Maybe that’s something you should try Tawny instead of saying nasty things about a whole fanbase. Don’t you see how unfair that is? Two wrongs don’t make a right and you’re in the wrong here too.
I’m still waiting for you to do the classy thing on Twitter and apologize to Carrie fans for making a false and unfair generalization about them.
Tawny, I like to read your personal twitter because even when you are harsh, it usually comes out in a funny way. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what you said about some Carrie fans. I just think maybe you singled Carrie fans out and made it sound like they are the only ones that ever say terrible things about other artists that get nominated over Carrie. Which they aren’t. All fna bases have those that are just as bad and worse. But again, today it’s only the few Carrie fans that are doing it. And that just gives Carrie’s fans a bad name.
im pissed that reba wasnt nominated in single of the year for consider me gone, i LOVEEEEE miranda, but seriously 2 frickin nominations, just ridiculous

Personally, I am glad that Miranda is finally getting the recognition she deserves. And I’m also tired of Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift… I’m tired of their music, the fact that they almost always win, and I’m just tired of them in general. They’re talented but way over-rated. Let someone else have the limelight for once. Someone who has worked hard to get to where they are, someone who has put their dues in, not someone who became an overnight sensation or got their big break on a talent show.
GO MIRANDA!!!!!!
