Tammy Wynette and George Jones Honored in Separate Ceremonies

Tammy Wynette’s life and music are being honored at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The exhibit is being called “Tammy Wynette: First Lady of Country Music.” Faith Hill has created a video to put the exhibit into perspective. In the video, Hill talks at length about Tammy’s influence. The video is woven throughout the exhibit, which runs through June 12 of next year.

George Jones’ musical career was honored yesterday when he was inducted in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. He’s was honored alongside Al Dexter and Ray Winkler. Mel Tillis performed as part of the event. George launched his recording career in East Texas in the early 1950s. And, he’s still going at it.
