Kenny Chesney had a love-hate relationship with his football helmet in high school. That’s where he’d see evidence he was losing his hair. He tells Parade magazine when he was 17 or 18 he’d take his helmet off on the field and he’d see hair in it. Kenny says he’d ask himself “what’s going on?” He says going bald did bother him in college a little bit. But, it doesn’t bother him now. He says friends of his in their 30s and 40s are just starting to lose their hair “and are freaking out.” But, he says he “went through all that in high school.”
Kenny graces the cover of Sunday’s (August 8th) Parade magazine where you can read the full interview that includes Kenny talking football, fond childhood memories and feeling alone despite being adored by millions of fans.

Poor Kenny, he just can’t let go of his past. He needed to have spent some time working on relationships instead of trying to always be the top entertainer. I remember Keith Urban said right before he and Nicole married, that filling a stadium wasn’t going to fill a void in him. Kenny should have put some of his energy into his marriage to Renee Zellweger when he married her instead of working all the time trying to be the best in concerts. What’s the use of having everything if you don’t have someone you love to share it with??
granna, i see you over at cmt trying to say the same thing. Kenny wasn’t ready for a relationship. He’s not holding onto his past, like you claim. BUT, it’s his past that amde him who he is today. It’s the experiences, the heartbreak, etc, that has put him in the place where he is. Kind of like a lot of the entertainers. Keith Urban has been through a lot in his life and Nicole came into it at the right time for him. Renee and Kenny got married at a bad time in BOTH their careers. Neither one had the time to make for the other one. Kenny with his touring and recording and Renee with a movie she was promoting, one that was filming and two or three others in pre-production. If you want to get technical, they should’ve waited on getting married and just kept dating. But, both have moved on and are happy now.
And I’m hoping the subject of this post was said in a joking way. Because I didn’t see him blaming football for his hairloss at all. Just that everytime he took off his helmet, that’s when he’d notice that he was losing hair.
