I have heard her say twice that the song is not a booty call. The stripping and some of the moves say that it is.
Yeah…not a fan of this video. I actually had never listened to the song before because I’m not a Julianne fan (Team Chuck!). I watched this video and I don’t plan on listening to the song – or any others of hers – again. Country music is not the place for stripping and dirty dancing. Try pop, honey! You’ll fit in well with Miley and Paris Hilton.

She was a dancer first, and the video is directed by Adam Skankman, I’d expect nothing less from him….
I realize she is a dancer and wants to showcase that talent as well. I don’t think this video was the place to dance. The dance moves seem like they belong in a much more untempo song and if she had to dance it show not have been as revealing and as sexy. Yes, she wears revealing costumes on DWTS, but this video was not about DWTS. She commented on a radio show that the label edited the video thinking it was too sexy for CMT. I look for a reshot of the video. I am sure guys like it but are they the ones who do most of the Cd buying?
Julianne is obviously talented, but she should fire her marketing team.
Most country videos that sell sex do it tastefully and with some sort of purpose. This video does neither of these things, and is something I’d expect from Lady Gaga, Keshia, Katy Perry- or something that would be produced for a rap or pop artist, where this kind of image is rampant.
She’ll have a hard gaining any momentum if she doesn’t learn to mix sex appeal with class, and prehaps incorporate her other talents with singing- we get so many artists from other genres who either use it to jump from one avenue to another, or as a last resort for a failing career- she’s only got a slim chace of fans accepting her, and the chances go even lower when you pull stunts like this.
Julianne has talent all the way around. Everyone has their own opinion. Yes the video is sexy and with a body and face like Julianne why not go for it. If you don’t like it that is fine don’t watch. Way to go Julianne!!!!
I agree if you don’t like it you don’t have to watch it. What worries me is that there will be so many that won’t watch/like it that it could put her album sales in the toilet. She has already said this album could make or break her. Why take a risk like that before the album comes out? I know she wants to appear more mature but does it have to be such a drastic change?
Saw her a couple of times live earlier this year (opening with Sugarland and then at CMA Fest). I always liked her on DWTS and seeing her on CMT when her last album came out. Not at all a fan of her as a live performer, though.
Even apart from the hoochie-girl stuff (~pole dancing in her Sugarland set?), it seemed to me in both of her live shows that she was trying too hard, and might have been better to relax more and have fun with the crowd rather than singing “at” them and flinging her hair around a lot.
She fundamentally does have a reasonably good voice and an appealing personality, surprised me that I & the people I attended with were all as turned off by her set as we were.
I like the song. I could hear Pam Tillis sing it back in the day. Think the guy got there too late with the flowers; she already had an orgasm.
I just don’t understand some of these comments? Julianne is 22, she’s a professional dancer, she’s sexy! Why shouldn’t she use her God given talent?? And if any of you understood the true art of dance you would totally understand Julianne’s dancing in it. I think it’s BEAUTIFUL! All of Jules true fans have been waiting for this……for her to let go and dance in her music video’s! There are so many video’s out there where female CM artist are being sexy. I love Faith Hill, what about her “Just Breathe video? She was laying in a bed on a beach with just a sheet over her. I thought it was beautifully done. Just enjoy the video for what it is. A woman expressing herself through her music and dance! The song is about not wanting to be alone. Would it have been more acceptable to you if she was rubbing up against a man? I think not! But it’s OK for a man in CM to rub up all over a woman in there video’s. Women want to be that woman in the video. They drool all over there self!! To me Julianne is one of the most talented women in CM Music today and I can’t wait to buy her new CD and go to see all of her new movie’s coming out this year!!! Jules fan for life!!! When it comes to singing, well, she’s a really good dancer. Saw her open for George Strait last summer and was actually embarrassed by her bad performance. That spot should have gone to someone much more deserving. It’s too bad she gets the breaks when there are so many talented women in Nashville who are much, much more talented and can actually, well, sing.
I like the song and I liked her til until her live show threw in a stripper pole and then this video. I find it very trashy, probably THE trashiest video I have ever seen in country music. She’s talented – she doesn’t need to strip down to nothing to try to sell music. I wonder how many guys can even hear the song in the second half of the video?
I have NO problem with her showcasing dancing in music videos either, but let them be classy. The video is too over the top.
Her music is not bad….but I just can’t get over her live shows and then this video. Her live shows are painful to watch. She really does not connect with the audience and the ‘sexy’ dancing is just not appropriate. This video could have been done tastefully but its just not. I dont see this getting play on CMT or GAC. And I understand she is 22 and a dancer, but that does not mean this is how she has to dance in the video. Its unfortunate that her music career will probably take a ‘hit’ by the ackward live show and this over the top video.
First…how did Chuck Wicks get brought into this…this has nothing to do with Chuck…Chuck’s video is relevant to the song….I was completely lost with the sudden outbreak in dancing in Julianne’s video…Didn’t make sense to me at all…And it appears I’m not the only one…Yes, she smokin hot and is a dancer…but I saw no relevance to the dancing in this video…
Not impressed with Julianne when I saw her open with Danny Gokey for Sugarland.
Seemed quite tacky and like a pole dancin strip show. Vocals not good- girl! Concentrate on the music and less on showing your stuff!

I liked the video. It was good to see Julianne incorporating some dancing into her video. To me, dancing is her strongest talent. I think she may do well as an actress as well. Everyone will have a different comfort level as to what they think is too sexy. I didn’t think it was over the top.

I have also seen Julianne live and was not the least bit impressed. Her vocals are just not good. She almost sounds like a cartoon character and the sleazy dance moves don’t fit in this genre. It was like she was trying way too hard. Its a shame that she is getting these spots to open shows when they should be going to someone a lot more deserving!
Back to this video…I was pretty shocked when I saw it and I am not prude. I think its over the top and doesnt fit the song at all. It looks like a last ditch effort to try and get some attention to her singing career. Julianne needs to go back to DWTS!

If you look on You tube, you could find her explain that the original edit was just what she wanted to express. Too bad so many people feel so threatened by any kind of sexuality. This video is not bad at all. I have seen worse in other music videos by other country stars. Bra is no different than a bikini…. and personally I think she is an amazing dancer. People are making this into a bigger deal than it is.

I don’t get why this video was banned. I thought the dance moves in this video made the video more interesting. I dance around my place all the time because dancing and yoga is how I stay sane and reduce stress. my 4 yr old saw the end of the video one time and said the dancing in pajamas/under garments was silly. Silly perhaps. So awful it had to be banned? no not really.
