Personally, I think Aaron is the most talented country singer to audition for the show since Carrie Underwood. He has an unreal voice for someone his age, especially considering most male singers don’t seem to have that kind of range and control.
Not only that, but I respect Aaron for proclaiming his love for country music early in his career, instead of jumping on the “I’m so country, even though you never knew it” like Casey, Danny, Phill, and so many others.
I think it’s awesome that Aaron loves country music so much. All the RF guys are huge supporters and fans of the show, which is probably surreal for him.
I’ve noticed tons of Idol artists cover their songs. Josh Gracin did in 2003, Carrie Underwood in 2005, Jordin Sparks, Chris Richardson, Danny Gokey, and even David Archeuttea did a cover of “Bless The Broken Road” for a few live performances.
For the record though, NO ONE beats the Flatts to me. This will be forever one of their best songs. Aaron is so talented though, maybe we’ll see a duet in the future? (:
