Could you imagine this past year without Lady A’s “Need You Now”? According to Charles Kelley, the song wasn’t one of the band’s front runners when they met with Capitol executives.

Charles discusses golf, music and dedication in an interview for this Saturday’s “Golf Magazine Presents David Feherty’s American Journey” on CBS at 2pm.

Need You Now,” I will say this is something that Capital can hold over our head forever, because we came in there and we showed them all of these songs. And I said, “Well, I’ve got a couple of other ones too. I don’t think that you’re going to think they’re that great, but it’s worth showing you.” And it was just a little acoustic guitar thing and everybody’s ears perked up and the engineer came one and they said, you need to give that one a shot. So sure enough we did, and it is our biggest single to date, so we recognize that we don’t know everything.
