Just the name Bo Bice intrigued me, and I was not disappointed in the music from this man with the cool name! Bo’s genre is Rock and Southern Rock, and he not only sings the music with heartfelt authentication but also looks the part of a Southern Rock star with his long locks and amazing jewelry!
Bo hails from Huntsville, AL where he was raised by his mother, a gospel singer, and traveled the south until she remarried and relocated them to England. Before school ended he returned to the US and Alabama and began singing in a rock band and he’s never had to look back. His music and songwriting abilities have carried him to Nashville and this new album, “3” means more than just this third album. He and his wife, Caroline, just welcomed their third child and it is also the well-known number of Dale Earnhardt!
“3” showcases Bo’s talents and wraps up who he really is. “Keep on Rollin’” is a rocking song about paying the bills and minimum wages, hearts broken and love lost. It borders on a southern Gospel and rock song about getting up, waking up and getting your feet back on the floor – hearing your spirit singing and keeping on rollin’ down that road! Toe tapping music for the soul is this song!
“Good Hearted Woman” is about a young mother with a child sleeping in cars and cheap motels all along having a heart of gold, making a life the best way she can loving a hard-headed man. This song is rocking and reminiscent of the “Outlaw” songs of the 70’s and 80’s and he performs it well.
“Lonely, Broke and Wasted” is a rock ballad about losing love. He is telling his love to go ahead and leave before she takes another piece of him with her. He’s been trying to leave but his heart doesn’t want to and he doesn’t know what he’s trying to hold on to. All he has left is torn up pride and all that’s left is lonely, broke and wasted. He loved her and picked her up when she didn’t have anyone else and he needed someone even though he didn’t plan to love her. This is a powerful tune about hurt and torn up pride and the way he croons out the song makes a female want to go replace the lady he’s telling to leave!
Bo will be performing in Nashville during the CMA Fest at the Cadillac Ranch on June 10th, at the Bridgestone Arena Plaza (free) June 12th, and The Limelight on June 12th as well. I, for one, will be in the audience on the 12th, as I really would love to see him perform, so I will see ya’ll there!!
