According to TMZ, at 10:45 am this morning, Mindy McCready was taken to a Cape Coral Hospital in Florida for a suspected drug overdose. I am so sad and disheartened to hear this. I was really pulling for Mindy this time around, hoping she was gonna keep herself clean and make one helluva come back!
Update- Mindy McCready’s rep tells TMZ the singer did not OD on drugs — she just had a bad reaction to a painkiller and her mom “overreacted.”
Brent Young, Mindy’s rep, tells us she broke her toe 2 days ago and has been complaining about the pain. We’re told Mindy’s mom gave her four Darvocet pills this morning. Darvocet is a narcotic painkiller. Dr. Drew Pinsky just told TMZ … he’s spoken with Mindy over the last few days and there was “no evidence of any relapse.” Pinsky says the Darvocet was an appropriate med for her pain.

That makes me sad – I was really hoping she kicked those demons after Celebrity Rehab. I heard they are looking for contestants again…..Didn’t she just petition for custody of her son last week?
Mindy was taken to the hospital for a reaction to medication she took. “Journalists” (and I use the term loosely in regards to TMZ) use words like “alleged”, “suspected”, and the ever-popular “sources say” to be able to report whatever slant they choose without any legal accountability. They aren’t saying it’s fact. They simply say it’s suspected. They don’t even say it’s suspected by any medical professional. The trash man could have suspected it.
Many media outlets know how to lead us to believe something without actually coming out and LYING.
Look at the comments. The comments are as tho what was reported is actually true. Maybe it is, but we don’t know, do we?
Careful what you believe.
BTW…I’m in the media.
Yes, I posted the TMZ follow-up ‘other side of the story’ on the Facebook page where I first saw the link to the first story. And I know better than to believe half of what I read in the media.
