Country music fans love them some country week on American Idol. It’s rare that more people would watch “American Idol”s Wednesday night results show than Tuesday’s performance show. But, it happened last week for country week.

A little more than 20 million people watched performances from Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Sons of Sylvia, with a surprise introduction from Carrie Underwood, and saw Rascal Flatts perform with Shakira. All that was on Wednesday. A little fewer than 19.4 million watched Idol on Tuesday of last week. In general though, “American Idol” viewership is down on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights, compared with last year.
