- Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood kicking off the 45th Academy of Country Music Awards. Both looking HOT in black dresses. Oh look, it’s Brad Paisley and John Fogerty. They don’t look quite as hot as the ladies. Wait! It’s Charlie Daniels! I’m loving this. That’s how ya start a television show son!
- Reba McEntire is a natural at hosting these awards. She looks amazing, is funny and will say anything. LOVE HER!
- Cher just got a standing ovation from the crowd! Who knew Cher had “country creds”. She just introduced Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins singing “Hillbilly Bone”. We are SO proud of HIM!
- Billy Currington “That’s How Country Boys Roll”. LOVE the round stage around the crowd this year.
- Kenny Chesney on stage with “Ain’t Back Yet”. TONS of performances right from the start this year. I’m not a big fan of this song but I must say everyone is sounding great so far. You never know what your gonna get with award shows sometimes.
- Faith Hill presenting Song of the Year to Lady Antebellum for I Need You Now.
- Laura Bell Bundy’s performing Giddy on Up Giddy on Out. People seem to love her or hate her. What do you think?

- LL Cool J loves the ACM Awards! He’s introducing miss Taylor Swift singing “Change”. Gotta love Taylor for getting up close and personal with the audience as always. Anyone notice Taylor isn’t wearing a dress tonight? She’s in pants… and that explains why. She get’s crowd surfed back to her dressing room.
- Julianne Hough present Top New Artist to: Luke Bryan!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!! Jumping UP AND DOWN SCREAMING RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Lady Antebellum singing American Honey. I’m a little disappointed they didn’t sing Need You Now but they sound great and Hilary looks beautiful. The fans got a great shout out from Charles Kelley in the middle of the performance.
- Rascal Flatts singing “Unstoppable” . Keeping my fingers crossed for them tonight. They sounded good…I noticed a hicup in the middle of the performance but they pulled it out.
- Album of the year goes to Miranda Lambert!!!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! Loving every minute of this. Blake should have gotten down on one knee and proposed just them. Would have sealed it all up for me.
- Jason Aldean performing “Crazy Town”. Again, not one of my favorite picks for him to sing but he’s always a blast to watch perform. He had a stellar year, I really wish we would have heard more nominations for him.
- Miranda Lambert singing “The House the Built Me”. She is having an amazing year. It’s exciting to watch someone new win such a big award. Congrats to Miranda.
- Leann Rimes announces Montgomery Gentry as the Humanitarian Award winners. Leann was of coarse the winner from 2009.
- Jack Ingram and Dierks Bentley performing. So excited to see Dierks on the big stage at the ACM Awards tonight. All of my favorite men on one stage and I’m not there. Kicking myself in the butt!
- Carrie Underwood performing “Temporary Home” As always, looking stunning in a beautiful dress and sounding spot on.
- Reba McEntire presents Carrie Underwood with the ACM Triple Crown after a FANTATIC and moving performance.
- Having Eddie Cibrian feels a little tacky and dirty to me. But he is presenting Vocal Group of the Year. And the award goes to….. Lady Antebellum.
- Here is one fine country man. Tim McGraw performing “Still”
- Brad Paisley performing “Water”. Makes me ready for the beach.
- Matthew McConaughey is pretty! And just admitted they made their baby after the ACM Awards last year! HOW FUNNY!!!!! Top Male Vocalist goes to Brad Paisley! A very wet Brad accewpting is away is priceless
- Brooks and Dunn with their very last ACM Performance ever. It’s making Reba emotional and I’m anxious to hear what the fans picked for them to sing…….. YEAH!!! MY FAVORITE! “My Maria” Disappointed in the sound for their performance. Not their fault. Country music will miss them so.
- Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood present Top Vocal Duo of the Year to Brooks and Dunn! A FANTASTIC way to go out BOYS!
- Our Host, Reba McEntire performing “Keep On Loving You”. Gotta love Reba.
- Josh Dumell – YUMMY. He presents Top Female Vocalist to….. Miranda Lambert!!! In her words…”You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me!” And she gets big hugs from Carrie Underwood on her way up to the stage. I am love seeing this be her night! I’m telling you the only thing that can make it better is for Blake to get down on one knee. Come on Blake…what are ya waiting for?
- Keith Urban is making me dizzy with his camera. But looking mighty fine as always performing “I’m In”.
- The ACM Entertainer of the Year is Carrie Underwood! Carrie thanks a little bit of everyone in her very quick acceptance speech with her “phone buzzing”. I’m a little shocked by this since Carrie didn’t tour or perform much over the last year but it seems the fans have spoken.
- To close out the night is Darius Rucker with his very first ACM performace singing “Down This Forever Road”.

The sound systems seems MUCH better so far than last year…which was a disaster, IMHO.

I so wanted Keith to win Entertainer of the Year. Carrie did not even tour this past year. Congrats to Mirando — she rocks! And what a night for Lady Antebellum. At least Taylor did not take over this show!
ETOY has turned out to be a texting contest. Carrie did not tour last year and did not deserve to win it!
Or Keith, I would have loved to see him get it also.

I want an explanation as to why Kenny was lipsyncing. An apology would be nice as well.
These award shows are getting a bit too predictable. It’s the same people who win year after year. Brad Paisley winning Male Vocalist 4 years in a row now? Who DIDN’T see that one coming?
Keith Urban puts on a better show than any of the other nominees, year after year. Every year, he walks away empty handed and never gets the credit he deserves. When will people realize these things are a joke?
Keith was robbed. Carrie barely toured so how did she win? Keith won the Jim Reeves but can’t even get male vocalist? They have got to stop turning the most important vote of the evening at these awards shows into a prom king/queen popularity contest. Anyone who’s fanbase is older than 22 will never win EOTY again as long as it’s all about registering to vote online or texting all night long. Adult fans of country music have better things to do than vote for artists.
The awards voters restored some of their credibilty this time around.
I’m so happy for Miranda- she deserved every award she was given, and appeared really genuine and grateful for everything.
Carrie’s performances and acceptance speeches were heartfelt and honest. She’s extremely talented, and more than deserves everything she’s been given. She represents everything right about country music. It was great to see her so thrilled for Miranda too.
I think she deserved Entertainer- she had her own TV special (8 million veiwers) performed at the Superbowl and MJ tribute (two of the most prestigous honors in any artists career). She continued to give excellent live performances, and has really grown as an emotive vocalist who feels the story. “Temporary Home” is one of the best videos of the year, she made history as the first female with 12 #1′s, appeared on several dozen magazine covers, and has recieved excellent reviews for her tour (with several sold-out shows).
As for people saying it’s a popularity contest, just remember it IS partially fan and industry voted. The academy wouldn’t of rewarded her if she hadn’t deserved it.
I would rather see a female win that has excellent vocals and works to grow as a performer, verses someone who cannot sing and considers constant hair-flipping a performance skill.
Miranda and Carrie ROCKED the opening- girl power at its finest!
Darius, Flatts, Carrie, Miranda, and Reba gave excellent performances.
Taylor and Lady A, not so much.

I was going to watch live online at UStream, but they blocked non-US countries when the show proper started. Very disappointing. UStream, USuck. Hehe. Congratulations to all the winners, thanks CMTT for the coverage and really Laura, do you have to swear?
So disappointed for Keith Urban – But, the EOTY Award was decided on fan voting … Which really doesn’t give it the credetials such an award deserves … Well KU knows the drill, onward and upward … He’s touring in 2010 is well on its way and he will live to love and learn another day … Not sure or care what the others plan on doing – AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE, OI, OI, OI !!!
Appearing in magazine covers and making the best video do not qualify for ETOY. She did not tour, period. Keith had one of the best tours of 2009, galvanized the artists for Country music hall of fame, is recipient of Jim Reeves award for spreading country music.. I could go on and on..
Wish I could have seen the whole show. It was so long in between awards. Wanted to see Rascal Flatts but when you have to get up super early what are gonna do. Lady Antebellum sounded really good from what I heard on GAC this morning. Rascal Flatts will win next year. You watch.
I really don’t like this fan voted thing. Carrie didn’t even tour last year. She was working on her new album & was very low profiled. What did she even do in the eligibility time frame? Looks like the American Idol fans did their jobs. Yay for Miranda, it’s about time for her. I like Brad, but I would like to see a shake up in the Male vocalist category. It’s getting a bit stagnent. Kinda upset that Carrie won EOTY again. She didn’t tour last year and I don’t even find her that entertaining. Yeah sure she dresses up real fancy and looks hot during her shows/performances but she kinda just stands there and sways back and forth when she sings. Keith or Brad should have taken that one. Heck, even Kenny deserved it more than her.
LOVE the fact that Miranda won tho. With the amazing album she put out last year, she deserved those awards! Kinda cute to see Hilary crying when Miranda won! Speaking of Hilary, she looked gorgeous in her hot pink dress.
I don’t get the Laura Bell Bundy thing. I was watching with some casual / non country fans and they thought the whole get up was a joke.
Finally, I can’t stand Leeann Rimes anymore. Especially when she brings Eddie around. Its sickening to me.
I would have loved to have seen Keith Urban win MV & Entertainer, but glad it was Carrie and not Taylor. It was so nice not seeing her up there on that podium act shocked and saying this was my dream.Her performance was not good either. I still get nervous hearing her try to sing. So proud for Miranda! She deserved it and her song made me cry….it was beautiful! I just don’t get what people think is so great about Brad. His guitar solos cannot even compare to Keith’s not his singing! Keith should have been up there during the opening number..not Brad. All and all a pretty good show.

Carrie has a beautiful voice and dresses real nice but, didn’t deserve ETOTY. Did she even tour last year ? I guess ETOTY means something different now.. Glad Miranda and Lady A won. IT was nice to see that many artists won this year. and, not just the one.
I’m surprised at how many people are saying Carrie didn’t deserve Entertainer. Even more surprised that people are making a big deal out of it being PARTIALLY fan-voted. If Taylor won do you think people would make this big a deal out of that? More than likely not. It would be a “OMG! Taylor’s fans did it for her again!” Such hypocrisy.

I actually don’t think that would happen. I’m not a Taylor fan at all BUT she DID have one of the highest grossing/attending concert tours last year and as far as I’ve heard puts on one HECK of a show.
I think alot of Taylor fans now have Beiber Fever. And the industry people were embarrassed by her performances at the CMAs and the Grammys. They have realized she was a marketing ploy and decided they’re not buying anymore. The award might have belonged to Keith or Brad, but not Taylor. imo PS Yeah Miranda!

People are saying it because it’s true. If you look at the criteria, Carrie shouldn’t even have been nominated. She DID NOT even tour. She did a Christmas TV show, big deal. I love her voice but that doesn’t mean she deserves EOTY. The Academy votes too, but you can’t compare the few thousand (if even that many) to millions of fans texting. So the percentage of academy votes to fan votes is pretty lopsided.
I’m thrilled that Taylor Swift didn’t win anything, but at least according to the criteria, she deserved it more than Carrie did. I’m actually hoping that the Swift days in Country music are coming to an end. She belongs in the POP world, she remixes all her music for that genre anyway.
I think EOTY should have gone to Keith or Brad.
