   I really enjoy what Willie has done with my grandfather’s song, “Pistol Packin’ Mama”. This was a favorite of mine growing up. I think Granddaddy would have liked it. I thought it was cool, that while addressing the song with his own style he retained the up-beat style of the original, along with the portion of the lyrics, “now there was ole Al Dexter”.
