The Carrie Underwood concert will go on as planned amidst the loss of a crew member today. One of the trucks carrying stage equipment for Carrie’s tour crashed this morning on I-95 outside of Stonington, Connecticut. It’s suspected that the driver fell asleep around 8am this morning while transporting the equipment from Atlantic City to Foxwoods Casino. The truck crashed into embankment, causing the gas tank to explode and the truck to burst into flames. Dental records will be used to officially ID the body of the driver who died at the scene.
According to Foxwoods Casino, the show will go on as planned.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire crew and family of the man who lost his life.

My heart goes out to Carrie, her crew, band, and especially the family of the driver that was killed. This was such a terrible and tragic accident.
It takes a true performer like Carrie Underwood to still get onstage and perform for her fans after something like this. I can’t imagine what she must be going through tonight. “Temporary Home” is already an emotional for Carrie- it takes true meaning at a time like this, and I’m sure it will mean even more to her after tonight. Fans said she broke down during TH, but the audience helped her get through it and gave her a standing ovation.
