The Jonas Brothers Cover (aka butcher) Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You”

The only reason I’m posting this is because it’s absolutely cringe-worthy…I can’t even believe how absolutely….um…appalled I am that the Jonas Brothers had the nerve to even attempt to cover Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You.”  I’m also not thrilled with the false southern accents they suddenly acquired.

OMG WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT…………………… That was TERRIBLE!!!!

Are you serious? Get over yourselves. It was mainly in fun, and not remotely their genre. I won’t comment on Nick esp. here, but I love Joe as a performer, so step off him – he wasn’t faking an accent, that’s more or less his usual poprock voice applied to the song. A cover is about showing an appreciation for a song, and doing it your own way, not just mimicking it.

Don’t like the Jonas Brothers, and this is pretty bad. They all have pretty annoying voices in my opinion.

That being said though, this was their concert, and they should be allowed to cover whatever they want. Ripping into another artist just because you don’t care for their interpetation of a song isn’t the nicest thing to do.

The JB’s are a pop band- I doubt many of their young fans know who he is; they are exposing some of his music to a new audience. Who knows? Maybe Keith will gain a new fan or two (:

I do find it kind of funny that artists rarely do covers from their own genre- many country artists do newer pop songs or classic rock, while it seems pop artists gravitate towards country (Kelly Clarkson, Jonas Brothers, etc.)

have to agree with Sigh. A cover isn’t about nailing the song, it’s about showing appreciation and making it your own. They weren’t trying to be Keith, or be better than Keith. I’m a huge Keith fan, and this doesn’t bother me the slightest bit. If anything, I like it.

Eww. I could care less whose song they covered, they just trigger my gag reflex no matter what. Haha.

From what I see, the one boy has his hat on backwards. lol
