Ellen DeGeneres wasn’t a judge when Danny Gokey was on “American Idol” last season. So, last night was her first chance to pass judgment on him. Right after he returned to perform his new single, “My Best Days are Ahead of Me,” she said “I thought you were fantastic. We put you through.” Then, Danny used the opportunity to pitch being on her talk show, asking if he can come on her show and dance. That was fine with Ellen who said “please do.” Then, Ryan Seacrest stepped in and asked “Can you work on your bookings after this, please?” Danny Gokey starts touring today. His first stop is the Mall of America in the Minneapolis area. Later this spring, he’ll open for Sugarland.
