The Legacy of “Stealing Angels”

Three girls set out on solo journeys to break into the music business in Music City. Caroline Cutbirth moved from her native state of Texas and is descended from American folk hero Daniel Boone. Jennifer Wayne, descended from film legend John Wayne, moved from California to Music city to pursue her career. Already in Nashville was Tayla Lynn, already a solo performer, and the great Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter. Perfect! Three ladies descended from legendary American icons who were actually brought together by a reality show producer wanting to create a show called “All in the Genes” which was to focus on the ups and downs of women from famous families.

It was then that “Stealing Angels” was born – reality shows were not so much for them but singing definitely was and they found that they were actually stronger as a trio than each individual. They are currently working on their debut CD due for release early this year with their award winning producer Paul Worley (Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride).

One of the songs on their new CD is “Girls Gotcha Back” and is an awesome song about how girls always have each others’ backs! I loved the song – it was so true and I found myself looking back over my own female friendships with a great big smile!

These gals are down to earth and don’t mind sharing some “fun” facts with you:

  • CAROLINE used to carry a sugar glider in her bra, and she would pull the little critter out during writes- our poor co-writers had to look!! :) (For those of you who are unfamiliar with a sugar glider, it is native to Australia and similar to a small flying squirrel).
  • TAYLA makes up languages and they spread like wildfire – her most famous language is adding “R’s” to words. Some of them are LOVE which is now LURV. SUSHI is SURSH and STUPID is STURP. She actually has an entire dictionary! That is ARSOME!
  • JENNIFER takes her two Chihuahuas everywhere with her, carried in her purse and nobody ever knows they are there until Pokie snores!

You can listen to the ladies at www.stealingangels.com or catch their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/stealingangels. Go on – check them out – talent abounds!!

I’ve heard some of their songs and so far, what I’ve heard has been good. I saw Tayla Lynn perform when she was on tour with her grandmother and she is awesome-lots of energy and talent! I can’t wait until the album comes out.

I am a huge fan of Stealing Angels. I’ve requested their singles be played on XM & Sirius radio. I’m a rural rancher from No. Nevada and ONLY get satellite radio. If you think Girls Gotcha Back is good, listen to Ladder, He Better Be Dead, You’ll be Back. Can’t wait for the release of their CD. I love to follow this trio’s antics on their website. They are truly fun loving, talented and dedicated young women. Best of Luck Angels! You GO GIRLS!
