During a Wednesday night ceremony, Alabama’s Randy Owen awarded Trace Adkins with the Country Radio Broadcasters humanitarian award. Trace has done several USO tours and supports numerous charities.
“What an honor. The first concert I ever went to was Whitesnake. The second was Alabama.” He joked to the audience of radio programmers that he’s worthy of the humanitarian award because “I’ve never killed anybody.” He then added, “I’ve thought about it. Maybe some of you.” On a more serious note, he said, “I do what I can. It’s miniscule, it seems. … We just try to help out when we see needs. I’m not deserving of this.”
Congrats Trace!!
