Kenny Rogers will be celebrating 50 years in the biz with a television special. Joining him will be long-time friends Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Alison Krauss, Wynonna, The Oakridge Boys, and many more. The special will not only feature some great musical entertainment, but comedy as well; and it will be filmed in 3D. So you can put your Grammy 3D glasses to use again when the special airs on April 10th.
Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years will tape on April 10th, 2010 at the MGM Grand, and tickets will be available February 11th at 9am at www.mgmatfoxwoods.com,
When this was first proposed to me as a 50-year celebration, something about that sounded final, and I didn’t want that, so I suggested we call it ‘The First 50 Years,’” Rogers said. “I will tell you this, the first 50 years TV show is gonna be awesome – the next 50 years TV show is gonna be a bitch.”
The First 50 Years will reflect the diverse talent Kenny has crossed paths with and enjoyed friendships with throughout the years,” said Dreamcatcher Artist Management President/CEO Jim Mazza. “That is what will make this once-in-a-lifetime celebration so special.”
More details to come as artists are confirmed.
