Keith Urban and John Mayer CMT Crossroads

keithurban_1mayer1

Ahhhhhhh!  Those are really the only words that can describe what Tawny, me and only a few hundred other people witnessed last night.  Keith Urban and John Mayer taped CMT Crossroads  in Nashville and I am sure I do not have to mention the music those two men made together was phenomenal.

A lot of you have emailed us asking for details about the show but we are not going to give you details (because we want you to watch the show).  All we are going to say is this:

We spotted Jake Owen, Caitlin Lynn, Kix Brooks, Scott Borchetta and yes….Taylor Swift in the audience rocking out to the best guitar playing I have ever witnessed.  Taylor sang along to every word of every song and everyone was excited to see what these two would pull out of their pockets next.

I have heard a lot of people using the word epic to describe things lately (Michael Jackson’s This is It, Avatar, etc.)  So I took it upon myself to look up the true definition of epic:    heroic; majestic; impressively great:  noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style.

To finish our vocabulary lesson…I will use it correctly in a sentence:

CMT Crossroad with Keith Urban and John Mayer is epic.

Unfortunately, they did not tell us an air date for the show but we will keep our eyes and ears open and let you know as soon as we know.   This will be a must see show for anyone who has love, passion and a feeling for music.

Country Girl wants you to be a Tattle Tale! Have you been to a country concert lately? Run into a country artist while out on the town? We want to hear all about your country music news and entertainment. Email me at countrygirl@countrymusictattletale.com

PS – thank you to our friend who made Tawny her plus 1 and John’s Management for having a fantastic Twitter contest to get us in the door.  XOXO

Can’t wait to see this on TV. I really hope they don’t show Taylor when it airs. This night wasn’t about her!

Man, I would’ve given anything to be on this show. I know that they were a killer combination. I was surprised to hear that they were doing a show together since they’ve both previously done shows, but I’m so glad that they did!!

I am sure that the night was epic and I cannot wait to see it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll also release it on DVD!!

    Thanks for posting some teasers!

Ok so some people arent giving the glowing review you are. We clearly know your obsession with Keith runs deep, so were you blinded by him and didnt see what an ass John Mayer is? Was it that Keith was amazing and you didnt pay any attention to the lameo on the other stool? Just curious where the truth is because it seems like the reviews are one of two things either “It was an amazing night”, “epic” as you said, or you hear it was akward because John is an ass. There are countless other talents I would have picked long before John to see Keith with, would be curious to know whose brain child this was.

  11. Country Girl says:

Susan, I do not have any type of obsession with Keith Urban. The first time I ever attended a KU concert was last year and only then did I proclaim to even call myself a fan. (Tawny who is the other part of CMTT is a huge KU fan) So my eyes were blinded by nothing but the extravagant guitar playing and musical magic that was made that night. I have heard plenty of complaints about John Mayer as a person but what I wrote about had nothing to do with John as a person…but what John was able to do as a musician. The fun parts that probably will not be seen on TV were what happened between Keith and John in between songs. Their banter back and forth and their willingness to laugh at each other.

  12. K says:

I’ll second that comment. John may very well be a rude, arrogant, and childish prick, but that doesn’t matter in this context. He is, first and foremost, a musican, who is an excellent songwriter and performer. He is paid to be an entertainer, and he’s pretty darn good at it. Frankly, he’s not paid to be nice to his fans or to cater a squeaky-clean and polite public image. He is who is, and he does not apologize for it. Keith is also a very talented musican, but he happens to have a “nice guy” image. Just because two artists have polar opposite personalities does not mean they cannot combine forces to make beautiful music together. And, Countrygirl is a Keith fan, and she does not give him praise he doesn’t deserve. She is fair in how she speaks about all artists, and she has never once said a negative or biased word against anyone. I cannot wait to see this show, and I have no doubt it will be an hour of amazing entertainment!

  13. Lu says:

I qualified for the contest with Cody (and thank you Tawny for the contest twitter tip), but I’m still so bummed I didn’t get my foot in the door. Dang!
If I would have gotten the opportunity and stayed a few extra days, I could have gotten “snowed in” at Nashville. Double Dang!!
