Once again Nashville Lifestyles Music in the City brought some of the best talent in Nashville to the stage for this charity event to benefit W.O. Smith Music School.
Taking the stage for the evening was Steel Magnolia, Josh Thompson, Jessie James, Josh Kelley with headliners Love & Theft.
The sold out show got started early and rocked until 10pm with all of the acts promising to lend their own new style to country music.
Steel Magnolia have strong commanding voices. They make you want to pay attention to them. Josh Thompson’s “Beer on the Table” is surely a favorite at every frat party in the US and if you can get past the clothes on Jessie James her voice is sweet and her songs are good.
I was most excited to see Josh Kelley and I was equally excited to find out there was something to be excited about! He did a FANTASTIC job and although some of his songs are serious and carry a message he also isn’t afraid to break out into a rap and get the crowd going with his upbeat and fun rhythms.
Love and Theft took the stage last and from the looks of the crowd that is who they were there to see. Doing a full set of 11 songs for us they rocked out the Tin Roof and spent most of the night interacting with the googly eyes gals in the audience. Ending the night with their hit “Runaway” everyone in the audience sang along to every word.
