Gloriana has lost singer Tom Gossin and has cancelled at least two show because of it, but don’t worry, it’s only temporary. Tom has been put on vocal rest by his doctor and is not allowed to speak for 5 days.

The band posted the following statement on its website:

“We have had to cancel a couple shows this weekend: January 15th in Palmetto, FL and January 16th in Sanford, FL as Tom has been put on vocal rest by his doctor. We’re so sorry for the inconvenience and we promise to re-schedule very soon!”

Tom seems to be having a tough time being quiet, and has taken to Twitter to (sort of) speak his mind.

“So, my vocal chords are beat up and the Dr. told me that I can’t speak for 5 days! I’m turning into a good listener. Silence is golden,” he predicted on day one.

But he didn’t even make it through the day before getting frustrated: “This whole “no talking” thing is tough!,” he Tweeted. “All I want to do is yodel from a mountain top.”

By day 3 he seemed to more than ready to end his temporary vow of silence, lamenting “the awkward silence supplied by me” and how much he missed talking to himself. But overall Tom seems to be taking the vocal rest in good spirits, thanks to the help of his fans, who offered up such useful advice as how to use sign language for the words “beer” and “candy.”
