According to Country Weekly, The Dixie Chicks have have divided, leaving chicklit Natalie Maines out in the cold.  Emily Robison and Martie Maguire have gone duo and recorded a new album under Court Yard Hound that will be released in May.

Even though Natalie’s distinctive lead vocals will be absent from the new album, the chicks say the Dixie Chicks aren’t officially no-more.

“Emily and I had the itch,” Martie says, “and every time we’d call Natalie and say ‘are you ready?’ she wasn’t ready. She wanted a clear-cut break.”
