Have you noticed the same actors over and over again in country music videos lately? Well, you won’t see the same faces or sets in Brantley Gilbert’s “Kick It in the Sticks.” The Georgia-born singer-songwriter wanted to feature a real “G.R.I.T.S.” (Girls Raised In The South) girl in the first video for his new CD, and he turned to his MySpace (www.myspace.com/brantleygilbertmusic) and YouTube (www.youtube.com/BrantleyGilbertMusic) pages to asks his fans for help finding her.
After phenomenal success building an online fan base — more than 3 million visitors to his MySpace page – it shouldn’t be surprising that Brantley decided to find the star of his new video by holding an online contest.
Fans posted videos on YouTube and got to vote on the submissions, and Brantley and his band picked the winner – Paige Duke of South Carolina. The recent Clemson University grad showed off her true G.R.I.T.S. assets with a video featuring her hunting, fishing, roping and wakeboarding skills (as well as a few bikini pictures).
“Kick It in the Sticks” will be the first single from Brantley new CD “Halfway to Heaven,” due out February 21st.
