Twitter Helps Save to Day for Blake Shelton Fans

Blake Shelton

Like a baby bird fallen from its nest, Blake Shelton Fan Club members started tweeting Saturday when their meet & greet passes didn’t show up as promised at will call for that evening’s show in Crystal River, Florida. And just like that baby bird, their tweets for help were answered.

It began when fans who run @BSersTweet (who’d both flown in for the concert) tweeted about the missing passes. Assurances and directions on how to proceed came in quickly from fan club members in multiple states, but as the meet & greet time grew closer with no resolution in sight, fans began to panic and the tweets became more desperate.

A meet & greet pass with your favorite country stars is a cherished prize and having one promised and not delivered is a heartbreaking experience.  These fans were not about to give up without a fight, and their sister fan club members worked feverishly to make sure that everyone would get their face time with Blake.

The situation was resolved when a fans contacted Blake Shelton Fan Club President Carol Large in Texas, who texted tour manager Kevin Canady in Florida, who set up a new plan for the meet & greets.

Fan club members at the concert then found each other using Twitter and old-fashioned word of mouth to get the new meet and greet details out, and everyone got to say “Hello” and get their hugs from Blake. A few fans even took advantage of the mix-up – eventually blamed on a missing list – to sneak in to the meet & greet even though they didn’t have an invitation. But no one seemed to care because they were so happy that things had worked out.

As fan @Crazy_Connie (one of the off-site helpers) so succinctly put it: “Tweets from Florida gets Minnesota to call NY for a # in Texas, to make the M&G happen in FL. BSers ROCK!”

@BSersTweet, who started it all, agreed and thank all involved and also spread the word. “GOOD NEWS from Rock Crusher Canyon for the BSers w/ meet & greets. THANK YOU to our 2 Connies & Carol that worked hard for us! We heart you!”

The off-site fans were rewarded with commentary and photos tweeted live during the concert.

Twitter – and the Blake Shelton fans who watch out for each other – save the day!
