Taylor Swift’s Newest Single Already Gold

On Monday, Taylor Swift’s  newest single, “Fearless” was released.  However, unlike any song before, “Fearless” was already certified gold before ever being released to air waves.  This is all thanks to the digital download age.  When the Fearless album was released, three of the unreleased songs went gold via digital downloads alone including “You’re not Sorry,” “I’m Only Me When I”m With You,” and “Fearless.”

No matter how many break-up songs you write, no matter how many times you get hurt, you will always fall in love again,” Taylor says. “When I wrote ‘Fearless,’ I wasn’t dating anyone. I wasn’t even in the beginning stages of dating anybody. I really was all by myself out on tour, and I got this idea for a song about the best first date. I think sometimes when you’re writing love songs, you don’t write them about what you’re going through at the moment, you write about what you wish you had.”

I heard “Fearless” on the radio for the first time yesterday and I guess hadn’t realized it wasn’t ever released. Leave it to Taylor to have a hit single before even knowing it was a single.
