Jake Owen finishes out his most successful year with sold-out shows, a fast-rising single, and an opportunity to give back. This weekend Jake played to capacity crowds in Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Columbia, MO, selling out the popular Joe’s Bar in Chicago, where he surprised fans with an intimate acoustic moment showcasing one of his songs with only his vocal and a cello.
The Chicago Tribune noted, “Owen’s shows have spontaneity and swagger…what you will hear is one of the most underappreciated voices in country music. A husky, rich baritone that seems to suit the lyrics he writes. If he’s singing his current hit, ‘Eight Second Ride,’ you’ll hear confidence. If he’s breaking out the rural celebration of ‘Yee Haw,’ you’ll hear his wild side. On ‘Startin’ With Me,’ you’ll hear introspection.”
Jake is heading back to his hometown of Vero Beach, FL, Friday for his 4th annual Mardy’s Tennis & Jake’s Music Fest to benefit the Mardy Fish Foundation. He hosts the charity event with his best friend, tennis ace Mardy Fish and it includes a tennis showcase, golf pro-am, and concert. It is sold out for the fourth consecutive year.
