I LOVE giving back by donating to local food pantries and soup kitchens, I also volunteer at a local stable because at this time of year they can’t afford hired hands and also have more work to do in less time! haha with days closing in at around 4:30 pm on a sunny day and earlier on a cloudy day its tough and I love volunteering for my community!!! I did a Operation Christmas Child shoebox one year, I’ve donated toys to a toy drive locally, etc. hahaha I love doing stuff for people less fortunate I don’t have a whole ton but I’ve got enough and then a little more so I try to do that little more for others!

  3. Valerie says:

I like to give back by donating toys during toy drives and also donating extra money that i may have to a good cause.

  4. Grace Patton says:

Donating to ToysForTots and the Salvation Army red kettle.

  5. Kaitlyn Kennedy says:

I love to help with food and toy drives. The best part of toy drives is taking the toys to the children and seeing their faces light up when they receive a new toy. I also enjoy giving back through my music in public, concerts, or at church services.

I love packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Christmas Child, making Christmas cards for people in nursing homes, and getting other gifts for children who may not get anything else for Christmas!

Okay, here it goes. My favorite way to give back during the holidays is by helping families in need even if you think you’ve got it bad there a family/person out there that’s got it 10 times worse. So all i like to do is give to others & tell my family members &close friends that i love & appreciate them with all my heart. In the end love really is all you need. & the fact that i can out a smile on a little boy/girls face christmas morning cause i donated something as materialistic as a teddy bear makes me one of the happiest people in the world.

    peace &love.
    happy holidays<3

  8. Well every year I got out and buy 5 coats. 3 kids coats, to adult coats and give them to a church that has a waiting list to get people winter coats. I also buy toys for kids each Christmas. I teach my kids why we help other and the important of looking out for others. Christmas is never just about us. We look out for others as much as we can. During the year my kids pick 10 toys a month they are no longer playing with and donates them to kids in need. I think this helps my boys understand that we should never be selfish and never thinnk about ourselves first.

I would love to win. I love the Carter Twins and wish I could have met them.

    Thanks and Merry Christmas

    HEather

I always help out with the toys for tots at his time of year and the red kettles feels sooo good to help out at this time of year!
So proud to say I am not ashamed to help out during this season :) So proud of the Carter Twins for helping out such a great cause like the special olympics :)

  11. Ashley says:

This year we want to find a family that is in need and donate some of my daughters toys. She has been blessed with lots of things and I want to teach her how to be a giving person.

  12. April Davis says:

I give back in many ways, not just during Christmas. I am an Angel in Hope with St. Jude, I also purchase an animal or group of animals from Heifer International, and give in the names of my family as their Christmas gifts instead of purchasing pointless gifts. I also do a lot of local things, at my job we adopt 3 families, then we split the families so each employee has an individual or 2 to buy for, I also check out local businesses that have the Adopt an Angel trees and I always get at least 3 of those. My nieces and nephew love helping with that.
I try my best to give back where and whenever I can. Also…I give to the Salvation Army and volunteer anywhere that I can!! Thanks!! Congrats to the Carter Twins…they deserve everything they get…they are amazing singers and awesome guys!!

  13. Brogan Riches says:

I love to donate things to people don’t have as much. Christmas is a time for giving and that’s what I want to do. I have participated in the Toys For Tots with my swim team in previous years and I hope to do it again this year.

  14. AL says:

This is my first set of holidays away from family – including my birthday! So this year, instead of focusing on what I could “get” I wanted to focus on what I could give. I’ve partnered up with the church I’m attending to serve the homeless. I may feel kinda bummed to not be “at home,” but at least I have a roof over my head and I know FOR SURE that Someone loves me. They need someone like that too. I hope I can be there for them like my family and loved ones are there for me.

Merry Christmas everyone! Let it snow!!!!!!!!

(((oh wait…does it snow in Nashville??)))

  15. Arleana says:

I like to give back to my community during the holidays in many different ways. One way is by sharing my gift of singing at local nursing homes and in communty choirs. I also give food donations at my church for local familes during thanksgiving/christmas. This year I am also planning on going to a local homeless shelter to help with there christmas dinner. It is always important to remember during the holidays and any time during the year that you need to think about other people and not just yourself. You never know when a simple thank you or what $1 could do for someone.

  16. Ashley says:

I give back by donating to the local Salvation Army their red kettle fund, It’s my yearly tradition to give a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child, and I usually will make a donation to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

  17. Alayna says:

I like to try to give back by donating to the Good Wills/Salvation armys around my house and try to donate to any toy drives to benefit underprivileged children or children in hospitals. It’s nice knowing that my donation will put a smile on a kids face somewhere!

  18. Scott B says:

My family gives back by buying gifts for Salvation Army’s Giving Tree. Its a great way to help someone in need!

  19. Candycane7762 says:

I have several ways that I like to give back during the holiday’s. I like going to nursing homes and homes of the elderly and hanging out and talking with them. I also like going Christmas caroling and spreading good cheer to them. Another way I like giving back during the holidays is by participating in operation Christmas child. First by packing a box and second by actually going to the processing plant and helping out. Going the processing plant is a very rewarding experience. Just think at the plant you are the last person who see’s the box before the child opens it. While there you go through the boxes to make sure there is nothing unsuitable for children and then pack them off to be sent to children around the world who otherwise would not get a Christmas.

  20. Amy says:

My favorite way to give back during the holiday is going to local charities and leaving what little extra spending money i have, I’m 16 and I understand that, there are people out there that have it worse off then me. During the year when I see a homeless person i give them my extra money. This previous summer i spent the majority of it in the children’s cancer section with my 10 year old cousin, just hanging out with him and the other patients it was extremely heart breaking and I plan on volunteering at the hospital this upcoming summer. I give all year round not just during the holidays but it is most important to give during the holidays. I give back to my younger cousins and nieces and nephews by teaching them the importance of giving back and the importance of holiday traditions.

  21. Haley says:

Every Christmas I challenge myself to do something.
You know those Salvation army bellringers that stand outside stores? Well I told myself every time i am at a store/place that I see one, I will put something in it. So everytime I pass by one,I make sure I drop a little something in there. I know its not much, but if all of us start doing little things we can make a BIG difference!
    Merry Christmas!!

  22. Kathryn says:

My favorite way to give back during Christmas is to ring bell for the Salvation Army. I have done it tons of times and some time you meet some really nice people.

  23. Holly says:

My favorite way to give back during Christmas is through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I always send in a Christmas card to the kids and also send in some sort of monetary donation. The kids go through so much all year long that I feel the need to help them have the best Christmas possible. :)

  24. Rachael says:

There’s always a huge demand for blood this time of year so I always make sure to donate blood when I’m home for Christmas. I think it’s really important to give blood because it’s easy, most people can do it, and it saves lives.

  25. Kim says:

We always get a family that needs help at my work. We buy food, clothes, and toys for the whole family :)

  26. KJ says:

My favorite way to give back during the holidays is going to assisted living homes (similar to nursing homes) and singing Christmas Carols. I have done for several years now, and it never gets old. Always brings a smile to my face :o )

  27. My favorite way to give back is giving money to chairitys and going to the hospitals and visiting sick people (like people with cancer). i also love getting presents for the ones i love. and i like to just say thank you to every one that has done something special for me. So Country Music Tattle Tale Thank you! Thank you for giving me this chance to win it. Even if i dont it will be okay because i know that there will be more opportunitys in the future. Ohh and Thank you Carter Twins for making awesome music that i can go home and look forward to hearing.
    Happy Holidays! ~Jessica

  28. Jill says:

I love donating to animal shelters around Christmas because even dogs and cats need some love during the holiday season. Sometimes I just like to donate toys, food, beds, etc. I also like to help out at shelters, or maybe just visit the animals, so they know they’re not alone.

  29. Leah says:

I love giving back anyway I possibly can. At my school we have a thing called the dove project where we raise money which goes to buy kids toys for Christmas that otherwise wouldn’t have any. It’s a really rewarding feeling and a great thing to participate in!
    Happy Holidays!
    Leah
