London Loves Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift LondonTaylor 2

We love getting reviews of concerts from our readers.  It is so exciting to hear all of your stories and thoughts on the live music that country music gives us.  When Taylor Swift hit London in November we received 7…yes 7 different reviews from fans who were at the show.  All 7 of the reviews were glowing and in agreement with the decision the CMA’s made when honoring Taylor Swift as Entertainer of the Year!

Here are a few excerpts from the reviews:

Nid – The band were fantastic and I loved the banjo and fiddle and well, if Keith Urban is still Country music, then Taylor Swift is!  Taylor and the band are very, very good and I can’t understand why people hate her so much. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I’ve always said pretty much the same thing you said on CMTT. And that’s if her fans come to other Country music artists through her, then that has to be a good thing.

The 6 minute standing ovation that Taylor received half way through the concert was very well deserved and I had to keep wiping my eyes, as they welled up. It was an emotional moment for her and me as someone who totally admires her.

12,500 people came to see her on Monday and it wasn’t all screaming teenagers. There was a very good mix of all ages and that was very impressive. I don’t know what screaming teenagers are like in the US, but on monday they screamed, but were very well behaved as well. It was a great atmosphere.

I wouldn’t think twice about going to see Taylor and her band again. I would do it next week if I could!

Jenny – The show was theatrical, but not over the top so. And Taylor has the energy to maintain a full action show. The crowd certainly loved her. She got a standing ovation (though really, most everyone was standing anyway) that lasted (according to reports) six minutes. And this wasn’t at the end of the show, this was smack in the middle. It was pretty awesome, and you could tell she was overwhelmed and grateful.

Claire – I was very very happy to see she stayed true to country even though it’s not big here! Some great banjo solos. I’ve been to a few concerts before and I have to say this was the one I loved the most. Not just because i’m a big fan of Taylor but because she put on a show! Each song of hers she performed, she told the story, acted everything out. It was brilliant!! Set changes (for example a big fairy tale castle in Love Story!) and then at least 6 costume changes which matched the songs. What an epic show. Worth a lot more than the money I spent on the ticket and I think everyone would agree!!

Marie – Taylor only broke through in the UK this year but she performs with the steady confidence of a superstar. Still just nineteen she glows with youth, tossing her platinum blonde curls and carrying her lanky frame with practised grace, taking care to high-five the VIP fans flanking the stage every time she passes. This two-hour show is impressive, high-energy stuff – full of costume changes, set pieces and dance routines.

Amber – I took my 9 year old daughter to this concert. It was against my will and I certainly didn’t expect to like any of it. I agree that she can write, but her vocals are often flat. After seeing the show I still agree that she doesn’t have the best vocals but her show was amazing. She kept the entire audience, including myself, engaged and wanting to watch more. She seems to be very hard working and deserves the attention she has been receiving. The next show will not be against my will.

  1. Thank you for all your reviews. It was nice to read other peoples thoughts on this really great concert. :)

I’m so sick of Taylor. I think Fearless is a great CD, and she seems like a nice, hardworking girl, but this overkill is gettting to be a bit much. She’s talented, but I honestly don’t think she deserves everything she has gotten, and it’s ridculous that she is being shoved down everyone’s throats like this; I can’t remember a COUNTRY artist ever getting the massive exposure that this girl does. PLEASE,I’m begging you, write about someone else!!!!!
