Carrie Underwood’s variety special will air on December 7th at 8pm EST. An All-Star Holiday Special will include performances by Carrie as well as; Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, David Cook, and Kristin Chenoweth.
It was a lot of fun to tape and I think we ended up with a great show,” Underwood says of her very own two-hour special.

Love her voice, but I really wish she showed more personality in interviews. She very rareky says anything thought-provoking or funny. I’m not accusing her of having no personality, but I just wish she knew how boring and dull she sounds in some interviews. She hosted her OWN holiday show and all she can muster is “it was fun” and, “I think we came up with a great show? Please.
I think she showed lots of personality when she hosted with Brad on the awards show. No–she doesn’t gush–thank God–she shows more class than that. Obviously poeple see what they want to see and judge unfairly. Carrie is a classy lady with grace and elegance and I like her that way. Can’t wait for the special–should be a fun show with Brad, Dolly and David Cook.
K–I suggest you listen to the video above of Carrie singing “Change” at the CNN Heroes show and see Carrie’s personality. She shows lots of CARING AND HEARTFELT emotions in her performance. I like the fact that she cares more about her fellow man than making the headlines about other things going on in her life. We need more people like her and just maybe the world would be a better place for all of us and especially young people like me that will have to deal with the world we inherit and have to deal with. My Mom and Dad worry about that all the time–but with their love, guidance and God’s help we will manage.
Sami, I’m not trying to bash Carrie. I do think she shows some personality, but sometimes I just wonder how she doesn’t realize how bland she sounds at times? She can be very personable sometimes, and in other situations she appears very dry. I know she has stated numerous times that she is shy, which is probably a big part of it. I also think she was great at the CMAs, and in her skit with Ellen a few weeks ago.
