Gloriana has had an amazing year! Their album was released in August and is already the best selling country debut of 2009 and to add a cherry on top they won the fan-voted T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2009 American Music Awards last night beating out Lady GaGa, Keri Hilson and Kid Cudi.
The first call the band received immediately following their win was from Taylor Swift from London to say, “I always believed in you guys and always knew you could do it.” Adding with a laugh “But didn’t actually think you’d do it!!!”
“We cannot even put into words right now how thankful we are to the fans who voted for us and to everyone who has made the last couple of months an absolute dream come true,” said Cheyenne Kimball. “This is still a bit surreal for us,” added Tom Gossin. “It’s such an honor to win an American Music Award, especially since it is voted on by fans and we are so grateful to have amazing fans.”
Gloriana will hit the road again next year on Taylor’s Fearless 2010 Tour.

It’s sad really. ANOTHER act that relies HEAVILY on slick studio production and Auto-tune live. they spent a week in SIR Nashville “rehearsing” but more time setting up the tuning gear for live.
Ya know it’s funny to me how unhappy people tend to only comment when someone is on their way up. The fact is that millions of fans have showed up to Taylor Swift shows and been exposed to Gloriana…..the fans must certainly like what they see AND hear since the award was 100% fan voted. The fact that a little known country group from Nashville beat out someone as popular and known as Lady Gaga is HUGE! Congratulations to Gloriana, you worked your asses off this year and you deserve the award.
I know for a fact they don’t use “tuning gear”. And they don’t rehearse at SIR. They rehearse at sound image and sound check. Nice try though, dumbass.
