I received an email from one of our readers today and it seems that Miley Cyrus has been running a “Be a Star” contest for over a year now. The contestants have been given many different challenges and were slowly narrowed down to a final 4. One challenge was to produce a video of “Hoedown Throwdown,” getting and teaching as many people as possible. A Michael Jackson song and a Beatles song were the last 2 rounds.
Miley has introduced three celebrity judges. Martina McBride, Mitchel Musso and Jon Mabe. Winner gets a recording contract and voice lessons from Miley (which is strange, since some of the final 4 sing better than Miley)
Can I just make a quick statement. I have never been to the Miley Cyrus website before today and it’s quite disturbing that kids are asked to “Step into a Miley state of mind” before entering her website. Ugh!

Shouldn’t vocal lessons be given by someone who can actually sing?
