Still have high hopes! Come on CMTT! Pick me!
I was 5 when my grandma introduced me to Ray Charles… I have all her old records of his and even got to see him in concert when he came to Portland when I was little.
My grandma gave me a picture of her as a teenager standing with Ray after she was beaten and hosed by police. She was the only white teenager in the jazz hall and she had driven 20 hours to see him in concert! She was ahead of her time and was chastised for being a good white catholic girl who was playing Satan’s music.
Funny because Ray always said country western music was in his soul!
Thank you, Molly
Would like to give that as a Christmas gift to my stepdad. Of course I’d have to watch it with him!
One more shot at it. Still hoping!!!
