The Coldwater Canyon Band hails from California and they are a pop/country rocking band! They have some great fiddle and drumming in the band and are lively and very interesting to listen to. Their new sound is dubbed “CaliCountry” and will keep you on your toes!

“Country Girlz” is a fast rocking and almost rapping song about loving country girls. The beat is constant with some echos in the background and the verses are sung in the new country rapping genre that is appearing more and more. This song has a lot of interesting instrumentals and an easy chorus to learn. It’s a toe tapper and hip hopper of a song that talks about country girls, jeans and Stetson hats. I loved the song!

“Party’s Going On” just surprised me because I heard a door open – it was the beginning of the song!! It’s a song about – yep – a BYOB party going on! Now who hasn’t been to a party in the backyard? This song is another happy-go-lucky song by these talented young men who just sound like they are having the time of their life singing. They have some really cool sounds in this song – doors, sirens and I don’t know what all else but it’s a happy fun tune.

For all the partying rocking songs they can do the boys can also sing a good ballad – “Shoulda Been You” outs them as a band that can also sing about losing love and looking back at what should have been between the singer and a good friend who is now engaged. The music has a good country waltz tempo and is sung with a bit of a twang – I really enjoyed the song.
