We got to witness Keith Urban’s latest exit strategy on his Urban Development episode last week, but for those of you who are slow on the information intake…here ya go again. Keith ended his US leg of the Escape Together World Tour in New York a couple of weeks ago. At a ‘normal’ Keith Urban concert, after the encore fans are showered with confetti while the band takes a bow together. Then the guys, Keith included, walk the stage handing out picks, signing merchandise, shaking hands…If you’re lucky enough to have the ‘good seats,’ this is the best part of the night.
Well, Keith decided to stir the pot a little bit during his last 2 shows of the tour. Walking through the audience across the floor of the arena, Keith was then shown on video walking through the halls, out the door, and getting into a taxi…leaving. I imagine many thought it was simply a ‘video stunt’ and Keith would be back to conclude the show in his usual way…um…not-so-much.
“The yellow taxi is synonymous with New York City and I was trying to figure out how I could incorporate it into the show …I think I did it…not to mention that I beat the rush for cabs after the concert let out!”
What do y’all think of this new exit strategy? Clever? I personally think as ‘clever’ as it is…it’s no way to finish up a tour. I like the drawn-out bow, fan worship, and the appreciative wave as he exits the stage…

Honestly had I been at that concert I’d have been a little disappointed with this type of exit by keith.
If I had been at the New York concert, I would have thought……”you go, Keith”; you are not conventional and you dare step out of the box. Love the man’s creativity. I may have been a bit disappointed, but I would put on my big girl panties and deal with it!!
