I was talking to some friends the other day about how much we missed The Wreckers. “Leave the Pieces” and “My, Oh My” among other songs from their Stand Still Look Pretty album could have served as an anthem for women everywhere. The Wreckers were on their way to the top, even winning a Grammy in 2006.
Shortly after the release of the album the duo was able to score opening act for Rascal Flatts and announced they were breaking up after a short leg on the Keith Urban tour.
Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp parted ways taking along with them what seemed to be a flawless way to the top. Although Jessica had stated that they will indeed continue The Wreckers as a side project, with no official statement to the fans from Jessica or Michelle the rumors started flying. Many of stories have been told, mostly pointing fingers at one member or the other as to the reason for the breakup.
Now both ladies are gunning for the same country charts with brand new solo albums in the works.

I didn’t even KNOW who Jessica was until she joined up with Michelle. I still have no idea who she is. LMAO. The only reason I listened to the Wreckers was because I heard of it through Michelle’s website. I’m glad to see Michelle back on her own anyway. That’s what she does best! Rock on, Meech!
i’m a big michelle branch fan so i will buy her album for sure…but i’ll try to see if jessica is as good and if it is i’ll buy it too!!!!!!
I have always been a Michelle fan and am glad that’s back to solo. I wasn’t all too keen with the whole Wreckers-side-project thing, although there were some nice songs (e.g. Hard to Love You). So yes, I will definitely be buying Michelle’s new album. As for Jessica, I haven’t really heard any of her solo stuff, so I doubt I’ll be buying her album. And yes, I’m sure there will be rivalry among the Wreckers fan because shit happens. And where in the world did you guys read all those rumors anyway? Who said an artist has to tell their fans every single thing, including private reasons behind certain situations? Both Michelle and Jessica are talented artists. Just wish them the best.
I’ll get both albums. These ladies are wonderfull artists, whether separate or together, they make great listening.

I’ve been a longtime fan of Michelle’s. Though I like Jessica Harp’s voice a bit more, for their new solo projects, Michelle Branch’s songs have a been a lot more interesting. I’ll definitely be picking up Michelle Branch’s album, and maybe getting Jessica Harp’s.
I don’t think there is any drama between them. I’ve been a michelle fan much longer, but i’m going to get both albums.
I was a fan of Michelle’s first, so I’ll stick with her. But if I like Jessica’s songs, then I’ll buy her album too. So far I’m not really liking the songs I’ve heard on radio appearances. But I’m loving all of Michelle’s songs.
I’m curious to know why they split up, but I don’t really mind that they did. Those things happen between friends after so many years of friendship. You just grow apart, and have different goals. Life goes on. It happened to me too with a close friend.
you knew it was going to happen two ladies for two different types of music. It was only a matter of time. I have both of the wreckers cd. they are not bad. but I dont have there solo cd , yet!!!
The last song on both their albums will be a duet with each of them singing only their own part. You can only hear it complete if you purchase both albums and sync them up with a special app that will be available from iTunes.
Oh I will buy both. I LOVE michelle branch, but I really enjoy Jessica Harps new stuff. I like both! They are both SO talented.
