So typically, we post fan reviews of concerts and events.  After all, no one wants wants to read a review from someone who spends 2 paragraphs pissing and moaning about how crappy a show was.  However, there is NOTHING better than a FANTASTIC review written by someone who was admittedly not a fan.  Knox Harrington from westernstandard.ca  attended Keith Urban’s  Escape Together World Tour stop in Calgary, Canada.  He admitted he had always ‘lumped Urban into the Kenny Chesney-esque wannabe Western cheeseball crowd’ but decided to give Keith a chance since was a fellow Radney Foster fan. It turns out…he enjoyed the show after all.

I quickly determined that this guy was a showman. A showman of the highest order. My toe was tapping and I was into the show very quickly. Even the material was pretty solid. Good songs, well-played. Here’s the real shocker though (at least to me)–this guy can REALLY play the guitar

This is my favorite reaction from someone when they first catch Keith in concert…For some reason, they don’t realize that Keith is a guitar player…and not the fiddling around type, but a serious musician who can play the hell outta any guitar you hand him.

The combination of skilled musicianship and a serious, rock star-esque performance played from the heart truly won me over. It was surely the most surprising show I’ve ever been to and was one of the best live music performances I’ve ever had the privilege of attending. Get out and catch the man on this tour if you get the chance
