Chris,

Carrie IS a better vocalist than Swift, but it's hard to argue with her numbers. She had platinum albums in 13 different countries, "You Belong With Me" was the first number one by a country artist on the pop charts, and Fearless has been the number one album in all genres for at least a year now. Even at the height of Carrie's record-breaking popularity she was nowhere near where Taylor is now. Personally, I think Taylor's win should be based on her accomplishments for country- not her pop remixes or MTV appearances. Taylor is a talented songwriter, but as a vocalist she leaves much to be desired. Much of her appeal is based on the fact that she personally reaches out to her audience, and she is able to "speak" to her fans like no other current artist.

Finally something about a great vocalist--none other than Carrie. I am so tired of hearing about Taylor Swift. She can't swing worth a da##-yet she gets more articles than anyone else--you can tell which writer is biased. Way to go Carrie-you deserve this award and many more--should have been nominated for etoy instead of Swift.

I was not liking the song when I first heard it, but it has grown on me pretty quickly. The song is different for Carrie, but she pulls off the great, sassy vocals very well. I'm not really liking this live performance, simply because the music overpowers her vocals- which is unusual for her because her voice is so powerful. BUT this is the first time she has sang the song live- so it's a little early to be judging its merit in a live setting just yet. And she looks beautiful here as well.
