In an interview with EW.com Kenny Chesney admits to running on empty the last few years and plans to take some time off after his final Stadium Show this month.
He’s also very quick to let fans know it’s not a retirement. He tells EW,
“I’m not quitting!” “It’s just a short pause. The last couple of years I’ve been on an empty tank. And that’s gotta change.”

I totally understand & support his decision. He has more than earned it! But as someone who hasn’t missed a show in those 9 years (and he does get better every year) I am very sad and wonder what I’ll do with my summer in 2010. Rest up Kenny…we’ll miss ya!!!
Kenny has already been advertised as appearing at WeFest in MN August 2010. What gives?
WHATTTT!?!? OMG. Countryfest at Gillette will not be the same w/o him!!! We’ll miss you Kenny…understand your decision though. Take some down time. But yeah, I’ve heard he’s already booked 1 or 2 concerts for next summer. Maybe he’s just doing a few shows? Hopefully he can add Gillette Stadium in there as well
I guess he’s scared he’s gonna lose Entertainer to Taylor and has to get the sympathy. He really needs a break. He’s been stuck on repeat for a while. Nothing new in his shows…same old same old. This announcement is just something to draw attention to him….wait and see.
I think Taylor has already won Entertainer of the Year with all the sympathy and attention she’s getting from the whole VMA/Kanye West thing. Not that she doesn’t deserve the sympathy. But that will win her the award. And Kenny deserves that award over Taylor any day. And yes, I’ve seen both. If anyone were to win over Kenny, it should be Keith Urban. He puts on one heck of a show!
Whaaaat… no I was looking forward to seeing Kenny again this summer… ): He deserves it though… He is so great. I would pay to see him perform all his old songs in a heart beat.
Well maybe if Taylor worried more about actually entertaining than wearing a prom dress everywhere people might have thought she deserved it more. KENNY CHESNEY is a hell of a lot better of a performer than Taylor look at my prom dress Swift.
