I ran across this very comical and endearing blog called Country California about a month ago. The fun spin and hysterical stories that have come to life on this website are not only what most country fans are thinking but also humor’s in a way that is tactful and almost classy sometimes.
My inbox greeted me with one of the funniest stories to date today. I wanted to share and hope they don’t mind me posting their story:
Sugarland have had a rough go of it in recent months. Sadly, there’s more bad news on the way: doctors have ordered Kristian Bush on vocal rest, forcing the duo to cancel none of its upcoming concert appearances.
In a statement posted to the band website, Bush writes: “I’m sorry to disappoint the fans, but this is simply unavoidable. The doctor has advised me that if I don’t take care of this now, it could mean even more serious problems down the road. Although you might not know it by the way Sugarland is changing the face of modern music, Jen and I are just average human beings, and we’ve got to take care of ourselves like anyone else.”
Bush goes on to say that he will continue to tour with Sugarland in a non-vocal capacity: “I’ll still be up onstage rocking out, but one of the guys in the band will have to take over the occasional ‘hey-yay-yays’ and ‘ooh-waas’ for me. I know it won’t be the same without my invaluable vocal contributions, but I’ll be back to 100% soon. See y’all out on the road!”
Bush will have to sit out radio interviews until cleared by his doctor, a situation Nettles calls “a real shame,” citing his “eloquence” and “not-at-all-condescending manner of putting Sugarland’s musical vision into words.”
Local country DJ Della McGuire expressed confusion at the news: “Sugarland is on vocal rest? We just had them out here for a show last week! Jen sounded great, and the other guy smiled a lot. It seemed like everything was fine. There were no warning signs of anything like this happening.”
She added: “All of us here at KQFY wish Kameron a speedy recovery.”
