All I have to say is WHAT A PRICK! Kenny Chesney has a BIG problem with cameras at his shows. We told you back in May that Kenny had made a few changes to policies allowing you to only take still photos at his concerts. If you were caught taking a video you were subject to having it taken away.
Well, when Kenny saw a fan in the front row with a camera he took matters into his own hands. According to Boston News Channel 5, fan Susan Mazar was sitting in the front row taking photos when Kenny grabbed it from her and threw it down stage.
“(Chesney) was like a person in front of me and he reached down, grabs the camera, shuts it, goes down the walkway and throws it on the stage,” Mazar said.
Mazar said she did get the camera back, but the memory card, loaded with pictures of her family vacation, was missing.
Video cameras are on the list of banned items at Gillette Stadium. Mazar told NewsCenter 5 that she was taking still pictures only of the show, not video.

I think that Kenny has gone way too far with his policy. It seems as though all he cares about is money.
First…how dare Kenny do this…If he was concerned, he could have alerted security who could have searched for video on her camera…then deleted the video…2ndly, he could have damaged her camera. If he’s going to act like that, then ban cameras and piss everyone off, but don’t take things into your own hands…lastly, I really don’t understand what the bid deal is…as if anyone has ever taken a video worthy of …i don’t even know exactly. Add this to the list of reasons why I’m not a Kenny Chesney fan.

I completely agree Tawny…..Corey Smith wrote a song that completely tells all “that ole Kenny Chesney what a hyprocrite” I have not been a fan of his ever since he got the big head and turned from his country roots to go be an island bum…..for real…I am a fan of Jimmy Buffet but at least Jimmy knows who he is….he don’t swear he is country and then write all songs about the Carribbean! If there was gonna be that big of a deal made they need to check people more closely like they do at concerts here….you aren’t allowed to have cameras but they check purses and everything before you go in so there is no issue!
I think all country artists should refuse to tour with him next time around.
Add this to the list of reasons I don’t like Kenny Chesney. Can’t believe he would do something like that. I was once accused of taking a video with a camera and had to prove that I had done no such thing by showing every photograph. They still didn’t believe me, but “let me go.” Believe me, this will ruin a concert faster than anything, it would happen to have been during my fav band, argh!
But even if she did, so what? Is that going to cut in his take of any money. I think not, and he might have just lost alot of fans……..Stupid

I think all of this camera business has greed behind it. That is the only word for it. It’s crazy, stupid and to act like this is very unprofessional. Maybe it’s time to take that “music break” that Kenny has been talking about for so long. He is obviously wound up so tight he has lost his mind.

I have seen Kenny once and I mainly went for his openers last year in Nashville. I have never in my life seen a country concert that people were as drunk at as that one. I left halfway through his set. This is seriously just another reason for me to not buy his music or support him. What a complete prick!

I never have liked him much and this adds to it for sure! If I had the chance now to be front row at one of his concerts I would wear a poster around my neck that says “Please don’t take my camera, I’m only taking pictures!” I’d like to see how he’d react to that one! I might get thrown out, but I wouldn’t care. It’d make for a great story!

Kenny Lover! – I can accept that it’s the rule. That’s fine…it’s the way that he handled the situation that I don’t like. It’s not his job and what he did was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! There are security that should have stopped her at the gate. Since they missed it at the gate it should have been handled by security inside the venue. What he did was WRONG! I just got into a big Twitter debate with someone who said exactly what you just said anonymous. The lady who had her camera taken away was WRONG to have that camera there. Even though she states she was only taking stills, that camera was not allowed in the venue. My BIG problem is how Kenny reacted to this fan though. It was securities job to make sure those video cameras didn’t get it. Someone was not doing their job on a number of levels. The way that he handled the situation, in my opinion, was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, rude and just plain mean. I can think of a number of different ways that could have been handled.
It’s not about the camera…WE all can agree she broke the rules…BUT security is there for a reason…they shouldn’t have allowed her to bring it in, and they should have been the ones to take care of the situation….Kenny had no right to do what he did. You can ask to see what’s on the person’s card and if there was no video…they didn’t have to keep her card…The fact is, Kenny is a total jackass…he’s getting too big for his too tight britches and needs a reality check.

I have a problem with Kenny and I have listened to his music, but I do try to avoid it at all costs…It doesn’t help his case…I hate it when people are fans of someone and back-up the artist no matter what they do…The fact its, no body is perfect. I’m a HUGE Keith Urban fan, but because I’m a fan, I am the first to raise one hell of a stink when he treats his fans like crap…The woman Kenny did this to was a FAN…she paid money to get into the concert. But, please, Katie, enlighten all of us?! Why doesn’t Kenny want to be video taped? Is he afraid that someone who’s not drunk will see his performance and realize it’s all a sham? Kenny just showed millions what an arrogant, lying, two-faced JERK he really is! He says he loves his fans, then destroys their personal property while they are enjoying his music??? If it weren’t for Youtube and Myspace, millons of undiscovered singers wouldn’t get a chance at their dream. If not for these sites, many would still be singing in bars making tips out of a pickle jar. Does Kenny not realize that these videos are how many fans even discover his music?? I find it funny how his camp relased a statement about no cameras, and everyone made it out to be the record companies doing; thanks, Kenny, you showed us all the REAL you.

This is just disrespectful and rude.
Looking at that camera, it shouldn’t have been allowed in the venue anyway. So in a way, she kind of did it to herself. But he shouldn’t have did what he did. He could have confronted her in front of everyone or gotten security invovled. And taking the memory card was out of line especially if she’s got other things on the card. They should have given it back and make her delete the videos (if any) that she took. Thankfully he didn’t break the camera since he threw it on the stage. Cameras aren’t cheap.
Kenny Chesney has serious problems. I’ve seen him many times, and even worked some events, and he’s such a jerk. He thinks he rules the world. Like he’s a god or something. I’ve got news for you, Mr. Chesney, you’re a person just like us. Just because you’re famous, doesn’t mean you can treat others like crap. I saw him one time scream at a woman because she had a video camera OUTSIDE of an event. The way he acted was uncalled for. Then I worked an award show and the show was like 5 minutes from starting and he would not get off his bus. They were like beating on his door for forever. He finally got off, but he wouldn’t go to his seat. He just needs a reality check. I thought the world revolved around the sun…not Kenny Chesney. Sorry, I just needed to vent. Ha.
He just needs to appreciate everyone around him. He needs to be more like Rascal Flatts.

And also, about the camera thing, all digital cameras have a video option. So they can’t really prevent it…I don’t see the big deal about getting videotaped anyway…does he think he sounds bad live….or he looks bad on camera? I mean, seriously, what’s the big deal?

He’s a dick! I have seen him be very rude to his fans for no reason whatsoever!
A few years ago, we were in Biloxi to see Keith Urban open for KC. There was a big church sponsored garage sale going on in the parking lot of the convention center, so alot of people were there.
Kenny
set up his basketball goals between his semis
so they would be seen by fans and other people at the convention center. He played basketball for about an hour in full view. There were 4 women standing a good distance back from the gates watching him.
They clapped when he made a basket, and were very respectful. After preening for an hour, he called his security over and had them make the women move away. He’s an ass!
I think kenny had the right people were told ,u need 2 respect what he wants. There r rules weather u like them or not u have 2 respect them. Now maybe people will learn and listen.(ya Right) Kenny does not just think bout money he luvs his fans he knows he wouldn’t b where he is w/out us!! Just respect therules!!!!!!!!!
I’ve said this many times today (and in the past) and I’ll keep saying it. If I PAY for a ticket I should be able to bring any camera I want to in. The venue/arena/artist/sponsor “NO VIDEO/CAMERA” rule is wrong. It is because of US that the artist get where they are. Ask Lady A and LBT, it is because of US posting things on Youtube, twitter, facebook, ect… that gets these artists where they are today.
Donna-the consequence must fit the crime, and Kenny dished-out something above and beyond what should have and could have been done….Security is there for a reason…Kenny should stick to his job…even though he’s not very good at it.

First, that camera should have not been in there to begin with. It plainly say’s no video cameras on your ticket. And everybody has a bad day now and then, how who you all like video cameras up your ass all day & night. GEZZZZ!!!
I agree Dawn…If I pay that price for a ticket and am gonna sit in a freakin-A stadium…I’m gonna need my camera to see the artist while I’m sitting amongs the 50,000 other people in the stadium…If Kenny doesn’t want cameras, he should quit being lazy and start playing bars 365 days a year to roll in the money he’s rakin in….cuz if I have to sit on the other end of the freakin football field…I want a video to have enhanced later so I can enjoy the show from home.

Deb – When Kenny is on stage that is his job. There are no bad days at work….smile and grin and bear it like we all have to do. He is getting paid millions of dollars to have his picture taken, sing on stage and take his Caribbean trips. I don’t agree with the whole bad day thing. Not a good story for me.
I’ve always thought Kenny was an arrogant ass and this just proves it. Why do performers make such a big deal out of cameras? Just how much money do fans make off of their blurry pics and shakey videos anyway? More enlightened artists like Keith Urban recognize it as free publicity and fill their own website with fan material. At the recent KU concert at the Indiana State Fair security surrounded a young woman during Jason Aldean’s set, trying to remove her and take her camera because she was shooting video. The order came from one of Aldean’s people. WTF? She put up a good fight, although she probably erased the Aldean video. All I can say is he lost a fan that day and they gained nothing by their hardheadedness. Jeez, it’s not like Jason Aldean is Keith Urban or anything.
How do they even control it now that every phone is a camera and every camera takes video?

sorry, i really cant see kenny chesney doing that. if he reallly did, then yes that wasn’t too fair at all. but i just recently went to a concert, and was in front row, i had my camera taking pictures every chance i got, nothing happened, he even looked right at me and smiled.

I think this has really got blown up by the media and everyone has ran with it. It seems like Kenny can’t do anything right every time he does something or say’s something it’s blown up. You can’t believe everything you hear or read.. And yes I did see her on youtube talking to the media.
Tim McGraw was sticking up for a fan…Kenny was defacing a fan’s property. It seems to me Kenny was trying to be a ‘hot shot’…I’m glad it’s not lookin so ‘hot’ for him.
