Jason Aldean’s Wide Open & More DVD Review PLUS a Chance to WIN!

When Jason Aldean‘s “Wide Open & More” comes out on August 25th I highly recommend that you go get it. The DVD is already certified gold and it hasn’t even been released yet. Jason has a way of connecting with fans through his music and his band is awesome as well.

Jason wows the crowd with all of his radio hits such as Hicktown, Amarillo Sky, Laughed Until We Cried, She’s Country, Why, Big Green Tractor, Johnny Cash, and Relentless. He also includes some of the lesser known songs as well such as Wide Open, On My Highway, Asphalt Cowboy. It really makes you want to be there to feel the energy. The drummer does a solo that is just out of this world.

The bonus material is just Jason explaining why they decided to do the video and footage of the crew setting up the stage and the soundcheck. It’s pretty cool to see what goes on behind the scenes and all that they take into consideration when planning a video.

The DVD really does make me want to see a live show~ But don’t take my word for it- buy the DVD and see for yourself.

  1. Leandria says:

There are so many great Jason songs to choose from, but lately, one of my favorite lines has been from the song, “Wide Open.”

“She’s ok not knowing, she’s young, and the world’s wide open.”

  2. Anna says:

My favorite line is from Wide Open
    it’s
“Shes young and the worlds wide open.”

  3. Steph says:

“We’ll send her a souvenir postcard from the wild side.”

  4. Rachel says:

my favorite Jason song of all is “Do You Wish it Was Me” from the Relentless album, favorite line is:
“is the life that you’ve chosen free from regret, or is what might’ve been just too hard to forget”

  5. Valerie Glassner says:

“I know I’d never let you walk away
So why do I push you ’til you break
And why are you always on the verge of good-bye
Before I’ll show you how I really feel inside”
This is from Jason’s song “Why”. It was one of my first favorite songs from him

  6. Julia says:

Hmmmm….Carrie said this a while back on her fan cub: “I’m working on a duet (if you can call it that since there is more than one person involved…hint hint). We’ve only talked about it, but the initial meetings about it have been really great! And I know all of you will definitely appreciate my partner(s). Sorry, that’s all the hints I can give right now.” Maybe it IS Rascal Flatts then? I bet it is. All these clues from both sides make it sound like it to me. I personally hope not haha…I know this is practically blaspeme on your blog….but I don’t like the Flatts very much. I’d much rather have another duet with Brad Paisley or maybe Keith Urban or Miranda Lambert or martina mcbride…or ANYONE else haha.

  7. J says:

    favorite line.

I can just see this line!!!

Goin’ through my closet the other day
    I found an old yearbook
Flipped right to the page of that senior trip
Down there on that Panama strip
We all started yellin’ when we smelled the beach
Couldn’t wait to try our fake I.D.’s
We only had a few days
And a whole lot of memories to make

  8. Julia says:

Woops…that last post was obviously supposed to go on the post about Carrie and Rascal Flatts writing with Ne-Yo. Sorry! My favorite line from a Jason Aldean song is:

“On my highway I’ve broken down,
And cried when no one else was around,
And prayed that God would save my soul,
Ya I’ve paid a lot of heavy tolls,

    Yeah Yeah,
What a feeling out on the run,
Drinking up the rain soaking up the sun,
Laughing a little bit more with every mile”
    I
    LOVE that song!

  9. Angela says:

Keep truckin’ along, work up a sweat
Pass every no, after no, after no, till I get a yes
    I don’t worry about what I’m not
    I use what I got!

Great message in this song. Love it!

  10. Amber says:

Big Green Tractor….”just let me dust off the seat, mmmm..put your pretty little arms around me….hell yeah” :)

  11. Jessica says:

Jason has a lot of great lyrics in his songs, but I think my favorite is from his song “I Use What I Got.”

    I use what i got
    Take what I get
Give Until I ain’t got nothin left
Then I give it some more
Keep on climbin’ up that mountain
Keep truckin’ along, work up a sweat
Pass every no, after no, after no, till I get a yes
    I don’t worry about what I’m not
I use what I got, yeah

  12. Jeremy says:

“She’s sitting on the front porch, with a glass of ice tea.
In my sweat shirt, in her bare feet.
    This I gotta see.”

“A hell raisin sugar when the sun goes down, mama taught her how to rip up a town
Honey dripping honey from the holler in Kentucky”

  20. Amy says:

From “Grown Woman”: Time, I wish I could turn back time to when you were just a child, and teach you a thing or two about love. It’s okay if you wanna give up, but there’s a way to leave someone and you don’t have to be so cruel.

  22. dana says:

    From “Relentless”

I toss and turn, I’m losing sleep
Can’t seem to make any sense of anything
I keep wandering around in circles, in a daze
    Just when I start awakening
I find that something’s intoxicating me
Till I’m tangled up, lost inside a maze

  23. Holly says:

I love Jason aldean and would be very happy to win a copy of his DVD.

“A bad mamajama from down in Alabama, She’s a ragin’ Cajun, lunatic from Brunswick, juicy Georgia peach with a thick southern drawl, sexy swingin’ walk, Brother she’s all country.”

  24. Adria says:

My favorite line, although there are MANY favorite lines from Jason’s songs, has to be from his song No off the Relentless album, and it goes, “I believe things happen for a reason, even though you might not see it at the time.” I like that line so much I made it my senior quote that went in my high school yearbook this past school year!

  33. Tosha says:

I absolutely love Jason Aldean’s music and can’t get enough of his smooth and sexy voice. I love every line of every song on every one of his albums, so to ask me to pick a favorite is truly torturous! BUT……one of my favorite lines comes from the song “Good To Go”:

“I drove away a little more able

to see the good things on my table

    and that I’m grateful…..

cuz I’ve has my troubles, had my trials,

I’ve hit the mark and I’ve missed by miles….

had days when I’ve been fightin’ mad,

but the good times have more than outweighed the bad.

    Got

  34. Tosha says:

to hold my newborn baby girl,

and the hand of a man as he slipped from this world.

And his woman’s smokin’ Pall Malls watchin’ Laura Ingles
And Granny’s gettin’ lit she’s headin’ out to bingo
Yeah my buddies and me are goin’ muddin’ down on Blue Hole Road
    You know You know”

  37. Sue Ann says:

You sacrificed passion and abandoned your dreams, baby, was it all worth it, or do you wish it was me? That whole song, ‘Do You Wish It Was Me’ from Relentless is amazing and his voice on this song blew me away…passion!!

  38. Patti says:

    Fav line is:
“from the songs she plays to the prayers she prays, that’s the way she was born and raised…”

  39. Heather says:

I really can’t just choose one favorite. However, I love this whole verse though, because it sums up the recording industry to a T.

Pay your dues and you play for free,
And you pray for a honky tonk destiny,
You cut your teeth in the smokey bars,
And live off the tips from a pickle jar
Till you find a cool new sound
And you smile when the record man shoots you down
