I am exhaling a big sigh of relief this morning. In the five years that I have been a FAM Club member of Rascal Flatts I have been able to highly praise them on their VIP tickets and meet and greets for their members. We have always received the best seats in the house and compared to a lot of other artists their meet and greet lists are pretty long.
Today, the FAM Club was up in arms with rumors flying that both VIP tickets and meet & greets were being phased out. With the closing of Echo and the turning over of fan clubs to new companies it seems that the company Signatures Network (a Live Nation company) has been running the Rascal Flatts store for a few months and in their FAQ’s section may have made a slight error.
Their FAQS section states that there will be Backyard BBQ’s with Platinum and Gold packages to purchase. So why is everyone so upset? Because these package cost upwards of a couple hundred dollars! OUCH!
And with Rascal Flatts making comments about the bad economy and canceling benefit shows in Nashville fans can’t believe that they would make this an option.
So what do upset and distraught fans do in a situation like this????? They take their gripes to Twitter!
Take a look at the twitter chat between Jay DeMarcus and a few fans this morning.
To Jay: @JayDeMarcus the FAM found out this morning – no more free M&Gs ;(…just a little post M&G depression I guess
…we’ll live…:)
From Jay to Fans: Just got off phone with management, trying to get to the bottom of this.. To their knowledge nothing has changed… Still VIP still M&Gs
From Jay to Fans: Everybody take a deep breath, NOTHING is changing… I can tell u this because we would know about it first…
Straight from the horses mouth…..this lets fans know two things.
- 1.) Rascal Flatts are involved AND notified of changes happening with their fan club
- 2.) Twitter is AWESOME for getting answers quickly and directly from the source!

I am so excited that Jay stays in touch with fans like this. As someone who has a family and not a whole lot of money I am very glad to know that these changes won’t be made by Rascal Flatts. It seems that only the rich gets the good perks these days and its really good to know that Rascal Flatts aren’t feeding into this crap. Another great reason why I am a Rascal Flatts fan for life.
