Sugarland Cancelling More Dates????

It seems as though more cancellations are coming in Surgarland’s future.  After one of our friends did a little digging and it looks as if the next shows to be axed will be the Little Rock, AR concert on August 6th and then the Charlottesville, VA show on August 27th.

Keep in mind that these dates have NOT been officially cancelled yet but most sources are pointing to their being cancelled.

I am not holding my breath that they will show up to the Nashville show on August 29th either.

I stand behind Tawny on this situation.  We understand that it can be stressful on a voice to tour and record but seriously….take all the time off that you need to make it 110% right.  Don’t keep going away for a little bit and then coming back before you are ready.  I would much rather you cancel an entire tour…..get better…..and then come back and blow our socks off.   If Sugarland keeps cancelling shows at the last minute they are going to keep making fans mad and some may stop coming back.

Kenny Chesney did release a statement saying that he is sad to see the backlash that Jennifer Nettles is receiving due to the cancellations:

“It was really sad to see the way some people reacted to Jennifer needing to cancel her appearance in San Francisco last weekend — and it seems to me we should all be concerned about her long-term vocal health more than any single show that she may not be able to do. Naturally, I’m disappointed she’s not out here with us — because she is a friend as well as an act I know the fans enjoy — but I think it’s more important that she have the time to heal properly, rather than forcing herself to try and rush back onstage. I know she’ll be back before the summer and can’t wait to have her back out there. But it’s about doing the right thing and we should all be supporting her in that.”

The problem is that we all know she will be back before the end of summer! We want her to take the rest of the summer off and properly heal so there are no more last minute cancellations.  Get yourself better girl!

UPDATED:

Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles has received doctor’s orders to rest her voice for the next week due to complications of vocal strain and over-use related to the health issues the singer has been battling since January.

This will affect Sugarland’s tour dates from now through July 25th.

  • July 23rd-Sandy, UT-Rio Tinto Stadium
  • July 24th-Primm, NV–Star of the Desert Arena-postponed until 8/6/2010
  • July 25th- Phoenix, AZ-Jobing.com Arena

It has not yet been determined whether the Sandy and Phoenix shows will be rescheduled but will be announced at a later date.

SERIOUSLY….TAKE THE REST OF THE SUMMER OFF!!!!!!

    Fully Agree.

I’m supposed to see them with Keith Urban on August 21. Doesn’t look too promising.

“I would much rather you cancel an entire tour…..get better…..and then come back and blow our socks off. ” Agreed!!!

All shows this weekend have been canceled. The show Friday night was to be rescheduled for August next year but later in the day everyone who purchased tickets received an e-mail stating money will be given back within 10 days. The show on Saturday with Keith hasn’t been officially announced yet I’ve been told because he wants to wait until they have a replacement act in place.

I should add. I am a huge fan of the band. I want them to take as much time as needed to rest Jennifer’s voice. If they feel it a few weeks, then it’s a few weeks. If it’s until next year, that’s what it is. I just want them to be absolutely sure it’s the right time for her voice and not just because it’s the right time for the folks around them to say it is. By that I mean the label or camp really. As Jennifer once said all the labels are thinking about when it comes to the acts is their bonuses and money they get at the end of the year. That was in a video they did last year with the Chicago station, it’s up on that site still I believed. That was all said the context of why they push themselves so much but still, it seems to fit. So rest up Jennifer. Cancel as much as you need to. Your voice is your gift, your instrument and is wonderful. Take the time needed to actual heal it instead of temporarily fixing it.

Maybe this is punishment for that God-Awful, over the top, forced Southern accent she emphasizes in her “singing.” Before any of you say anything, I know she is a Southern woman, BUT NO ONE sings with that much of a drawl forced in her voice. Sorry for the health problems, but she has to have one of the MOST ANNOYING voices ever in all of popular music. Maybe this is a ploy to take time and figure out how to shake herself loose of that dancing fairy of a mandolin player so she get all the kudos. Believe me…That’s Coming. I saw them when they were a trio and instead of refering to the act as “WE”, Jennifer constantly said “I” when talking about Sugarland. Give it a year or two before that announcement…Betcha!!!
