Hank Williams Jr. talked to CMT about his new album, 127 Rose Avenue and had a few choice words for his label, Curb Records. He also said that this would be his last album under the label, stating that they didn’t give him the artistic and promotional backing that he deserves.
Bocephus calls this new album “a gem” and he wrote 5 of the 11 tracks. The album title refers to his boyhood home in Georgiana, Al that now serves as a museum. His songs have all of the classic Hank Williams Jr. touches, tributes to his father, blue-collar songs, as well as the quiet nods to the ladies.
Williams is very proud of this album despite the label’s lack of respect for it. He states that they even wanted to use a seven year old picture of him for the cover instead of creating a new one. When CMT asked Curb Records to comment they declined.
I’m not sure I’d want to get on Bocephus’ bad side, that’s just me though.
