Last night fans from around the country watched the live stream of the White House Music Series: country edition. Audience members enjoyed performances by Brad Paisley, Charley Pride, and Alison Krauss. Besides seeing country music represented at our nations capital; I think the highlight was President Obama quoting Dierks Bentley…
“A lot of people think I’m a city boy, but I do appreciate listening to country music,” Obama said in his opening remarks. The President praised country’s dedication to storytelling, said the music “contributed to the life of this nation and chronicled the history of our people”
“Dierks Bentley called (country), ‘The best shrink that fifteen bucks can buy,’” Obama said
