Imagine being on tour with one of the biggest names in country music….and being asked to sing a song that you don’t know…what would you do?
When country music superstar Keith Urban asked both Dierks Bentley and Jason Aldean to join him on stage for the 1975 Eagles hit “Take It To The Limit” at two separate tour dates in VA and KS, he wasn’t prepared for his opening acts to have to think on their feet. Each secretly devised last-minute “cheat sheets” to help them with the song that neither had previously performed live. Bentley scribbled out the lyrics on his forearm with a Sharpie, and Aldean followed by taping the printed lyrics sheet to his mic stand with gaffe tape. Once he realized what both acts were up to, Urban didn’t let either get away without a little public humiliation in front of both sold out crowds. Thankfully, the fans were more than happy to come to both Bentley and Aldean’s rescue, creating an arena-wide sing-a-long.
